specifics for my age and size

Hi Cathe!
I am new to this site. I have been using your videos for a few weeks now and I love them! I am 39, 5'2", 132 lbs. You look like you are close to my height and I was wondering if you have any specific do's or don'ts for diet or exercise to help me slim down my short frame at my age. any exercises you avoid? Anything special in your diet? Thanks in advance for your help!
 
Hi Kim--I'm not Cathe but.......

I'm 37, 5'3" & weigh somewhere between 105 & 110 (this varies from week to week ;-) ).

Anyway, I can only tell you what's worked for me--I was slim until I hit 30, & then the scale just started inching up a pound or two every month. I've always been a pretty serious exerciser & used to do low fat, but for some reason it stopped working for me after 30. Change in body chemistry or metabolism or whatever.

So I broke down & tried Atkins when the scale reached 140. I lost 30 lbs in about 8 weeks & have kept it off for more than 2 years now. I've modified it somewhat since I reached my goal weight, but I'm totally committed to low carb. It's a fairly easy diet that you can stick to b/c you're never hungry.

HI!! i am 5'4" 145lbs 42 years old. i recently lost 40lbs on the FIT FOR LIFE program. it promotes eating organic natural foods (fruits and veggies mainly) my friends who are on the ATKINS DIET are envious of all the fruit and juice i comsume every day. i hope this is helpful and good luck!!
