I don't know about South Beach (I don't follow any "diet"), but why not opt for raw, unsalted nuts, which are healthier. There is so much sodium in so many foods, it's hard not to get too much. I love raw walnuts, almonds and pecans. This time of year, you can often find nuts in the shell (even fresher tasting) at your local grocery store (and having to crack them open before eating them keeps you from mindlessly gobbling them down).
