Sorry another Famous Dave's ???

Morning Everyone,

I have tried talking with the company but they are just making the matter more and more confusing. So please help if you can. Are there two different products, one that is just a self tanner then another one that is moisturizer plus tanner? And if there is what is the difference other than more moisture? Will they tan you differently?

I feel like such an idiot, but I just don't get it!

Linda

Hi Linda,

No one's replying! I don't know that I can help you. I ordered last week, and had the same confusion. Ended up ordering the moisture tan and the face stuff. Both look the same and have the same consistency -- like hand lotion or a moisturizer. The difference between these two seem to be in how dark a tan they produce. I think you're asking about another product I ended up not buying because I wasn't really sure what the deal was. I think basically, they're probably pretty similar.

good luck!

I bought a bottle of each, and have used both. They do the exact same thing, tanning-wise. And honestly, I didn't see ANY difference in moisturizing effects between the Original Famous Dave's and the Moisture Tan Famous Dave's.

HTH!

I ordered both the tanner and moisture tan because I was confused as well. I would say the tanner gave me a little more color but the stink factor was higher than the moisture tan.

I like the product but not happy about the recent price increase. I paid $23.99 for both products 3 weeks ago and now the price is $36.97 :( Not sure if I'll order again.

Beth - Oh they are answering but their replies are just confusing me all the more. Here's what they told me so far.

1.You are fine. The name changed to Famous Dave's Moisture Tan from just
Moisture tan. They are the same. Some people still ask for the old bottle.

2.They are the same. The extra $1 is just because I have to make those in smaller batches so it is a little more expensive. I would suggest the Famous Dave's and Scrub combo.

3.You are not difficult. I order larger quantities of the new label so it is a little less (quantity discount at the manufacturer). Although.the lotion is the same, the bottles have to be screen differently.

First they tell the moisture tan name changed which is not what I wanted to know, so I asked about price and they said is made in smaller batches and there for more expensive, to me smaller different batches would mean different product, but their final answer seems to refer to the bottle and label not to what is inside. So I am just trying to find out if I am paying extra just to have moisturizer in the tanner and not getting as dark a tan because the product is not as strong as the plain tanner due to the added moisturizer. Ugh!

Linda

Linda,

I have both the tanner and the moisture tan. I'm not sure if it's all in my head or something but I've gotten different reactions from them. The color that I receive from them are the same (nice brown color) but I've noticed that when I use the tanner within a few hours I feel really hot and itchy. I don't get that bad of a reaction with the moisture tan. Needless to say I've been using the MT more often. I've also been applying Aveeno lotion twice a day b/c my skin has been a bit drier.

I'm not too impressed with the recent price increase either :(

HTH :)

FINALLY! Someone else with this reaction!!! My skin started burning too after using the tanner for a few weeks. I have the moisture tan, so maybe that is why it took longer to burn. My skin felt all scratchy and clothes really irritated my back - felt like I was wearing steel wool jammies. Have you used it since Chastity?

Actually Liann I used the regular tanner last night and I was so miserable lying in bed :( It took me about two hours to get to sleep and I had to pull the covers off of me. I'm not planning on using it much longer, I just wanted to get some color before leaving for Miami TODAY :) :) My DB is getting married on Saturday. I'm a bundle of nerves seeing that I haven't flown in 8 years!!

Chastity - That is how I was too. I couldn't stand laying in bed. I actually got up twice to look at my back to see why it was burning. I couldn't really see much of a rash, but it felt awful. Good luck with the flight!!! I do not like to fly either. :/ My DH keeps pointing out to me it is the safest way to travel though... Have fun at the wedding!!!

NOW I'm jealous! How do u get self tanner on your back?!?!?
