Sore Hands

Anyone have problems with achy hands from carrying all those weights? We all usually go from upper body to lower and our hands never get a rest. Not only from weights, but for some of us from gardening as well...just feel like I need some hand therapy. I use gloves when I workout, but not when I am in the garden. Any suggestions? What kind of Hand Stretch Max should I do? Icy Hot or soaking?

You could try using wraps when you lift. I got a set from www.bigfitness.com that actually have hooks instead of wraps, they're great for back & trap workouts. This is pretty much the only workout "accessory" that I use (no belts, gloves, etc.).

Bottom line is most of your muscles are way stronger than your hand muscles, so it can help to have a little assistance.

You can alternate making a tight fist and then opening your hands up, spreading your fingers as far as you can.

There are some therapy tools for hand strength. www.fitter1st.com (I think? maybe www.power-systems.com ) has some webbing tools that look like the head of a tennis racket: you put your fingers in the openings and clasp and spread them to work the finger extensors and flexors.
