Sony's neat new mp3 player for the gym

I dearly love my iPod Nano. I use it with wireless jaybird gear bluetooth headphones at the gym. So I really have no cause to....and yet....I am soooo tempted by this nifty new wearable mp3 player from Sony:

It is expected to retail in the United States for $69.

The player has 2 GB of memory - just enough to be a Cardio Coach / iTrain only player, exclusively for the gym. I love how light it is and how there are no wires.

It has no display, but you can browse through your music by playing little snippets of each song to find the album what you want. So instead of using a display to scroll through to a specific Cardio Coach volume, you would have to use the jog wheel to listen until you get to the right volume.

If only I could borrow some features from the new Shuffle and take it to the Walkman W, I'd have my ideal gym player.

The new Shuffle "talks to you" to overcome the lack of screen - so you can scoll by listening to announcements rather that using your eyes to scroll through a display. It also has playlist support which the Walkman W does not. Plus it has a whole 4 GB of space.

However you cant do without headphones and wires with the Shuffle, so I think the Walkman W wins the best gym player award.

Vee, you're a marvel!! I wish SNM would give you your own forum -- I'm not kidding!! You're SO knowledgeable about all this techie/geeky stuff, and such a big help to those of us who aren't!

Both very cool devices!! Isn't it frustrating, though, that no one can (or will) come out with THE device that does it all? Apple especially irritates me, yet I LOVE my Nano, and thanks to YOU, even more so since I got my Jaybird Gear bluetooth headset. :D

Vee - what an enabler you are! That new Sony looks really nifty! If it does retail in the states for only $69, it will be very tempting!
