It definitely is NOT about who is most worthy to win, or who is the most competent, or who would actually be the best 'survivor": it's all about drama and selling commercial time!

Yep, pretty stupid: win a million dollars on TV in front of millions of people...and don't pay your taxes on it! (though I thought with most shows where people win big bucks, the IRS is right there to collect their cut at the beginning? )
