When I was about 14, part of English was for a group to write a play, so I was in a group that wrote a play called "Whats up Mrs Mables?"...........meaning it as a question

BUT because Mrs Mables character was a prostitute and played by me!, the "Whats up Mrs Mables?" had all the boys in school claim "they were UP! Mrs Mables" for weeks after

Funny how I never volunteered for any more plays after that.

You have to stay in shape. My Grandmother started walking when she was 60. Today she is 97 and we don't know where the hell she is! - Ellen DeGeneres

In the 4th grade I was a clown in the church musical - The Backyard Gang if I remember right. IMHO - I should have gone straight to broadway!!!

We put on a play in my grade school English class (or junior high?) and I was the maid (I thought I had to be black!) I have no idea what any of my lines were, but one of the other characters says "I'm too young to be lascivious" (as if any of us knew what that meant!)

I've worked behind the scenes on plays: as "assistant director" in High School (I was basically just the director's--the teachers--gopher: helping with props and painting scenery, and serving as messenger between her and the actors while the play was on, telling one guy to zip up his fly, for example!)

In college (undergrad), I was a prop person. We had to make "wine" out of kool-aid and kept putting more and more sugar in it at each performance! I was seduced by a sexy bahamian actor who asked me backstage if I'd ever been kissed backstage.

From age 13 to 15, I did theatre make-up for two community theatre groups. Occasionally when someone would get sick, I would have to fill in for them, so I've been in The King and I (Siamese kid), M*A*S*H (nurse), Arsenic and Old Lace and about three dozen others. Never anything substantial.

Best thing that eve happened, though, was when I played I scullery maid (can't remember which play) and the lead actor grabbed my a$$ on stage. I turned aound and slapped the crap out of him and got some decent applause! :)

I got to be an angel in the sixth grade play when I was in fifth grade because I was taller than everyone else and someone thought angels should be tall. I was delighted because I had a crush on both the first and third wise men (the second wise man was actually a sixth grade girl). My lines -- "Hark!" (I think I was the Herald Angel, :) although, thank goodness, I wasn't asked to sing--now THAT would have been interesting.)

When I was a Senior in High School I was an old lady in our class play. I got a lot of laughs.

In 1999 our family started acting in the local Renissance Faire. At that time I played Baroness Morley. Last year I was given a new character. I am playing the Countess of Derby. It is a big commitment, but we have a great time.

I didn't really do that much in grade school other than the typical "Choir" stuff. In Highschool I was "Grease" along with a couple Shakespeare plays.
In college I majored in musical theatre, so as you can imagine I was in more productions than I'm sure you want to read. It was great fun and I had every intention of moving to NY and being on Broadway, but then I met my husband and he stole my heart away and it no longer belonged to the stage. I miss it sometimes, but I wouldn't give up my husband and daughter for the world. Best decision I ever made.:)

I was Dorothy in my 5th grade's version of The Wizard of Oz. I didn't even try out for that particular part. I wanted to be the wicked witch -- but apparently couldn't pull it off. But, based upon my audition for the witch -- they cast me as Dorothy. Let me just say that the girls who tried out for Dorothy weren't happy. It was the most exciting thing I had ever done. I had 2 solos and a lot of lines. I honestly don't know how I did it without being scared to death. I was never in another play. Something always seemed to come up and I made excuses for not trying out (too tired, too lazy, too much trouble, etc).

You know -- if I have one regret in my life -- it is not pursuing more acting opportunities.

Awwww...fond memories. Maybe it's time to resurrect my acting career at 33 :)

What a cool question...I am sitting here remembering al the good times during the plays!

Honestly, I have no idea or recollection what I did when I was in grade school but I know that I was in choir, band, etc. and I know I did stuff that I can't recall. I was always the entertainer and was talented in the arts naturally. I took private voice lessons, flute and piano and "culture" (what a waste - look at me now! ha ha ha!)

8th grade - 45 Minutes from Broadway
9th grade - Grease (Rizzo)
10th grade - Grease (Sandy)
12th grade Grease - (Rizzo)

I played the virgin and the hussy! ha ha ha! :)

In 9th grade, I was Mr. Witherspoon in Arsenic and Old Lace (there weren't very many boys in the drama club)
I was also in The Gift of the Magi (I played the chick who cut off her hair).

I think that was it.
