So how strange am I?

My kitty likes to eat them, but just the front half. She leaves us the back legs and tail by the back door as some kind of bizarre gift:p

I used to get them a lot at my old house (it was older and had lots of places for them to get in), and we used the snap traps. I hated finding them in the morning. You're right, they ARE so cute.:-(

"I don't know if you consider $10 expensive, but that's what mine cost (a green plastic thing, with a slot to put a peanut-butter coverd cracker in for bait. They eat through the cracker to get out after you lift a trap door). I don't remember where I got it, but I've seen them at www.peta.com ."

Actually, I personally would have paid the $ 10.00 for a trap like that but I wasn't the one going to the store for it :-(

Shaz, I live right next to some woods where there are lots of field mice. Unfortunately I have several cats & and one in particular goes out to play. There have been numerous times where I practically drag him by the tail back inside because I know he's up to no good. He once was acting a little unusual on my front lawn & apparently had a little baby mouse cornered. After smacking him to go away (yes, I know all about animal instincts, but he is also well fed & doesn't need to hunt for food) I scooped that poor baby up. I tried to nurse it back to health but you're right, they just don't recover from the shock or the trauma. The poor thing died in my arms. And I know ya'll are going to think I'm wacko, but I just felt so bad for it. My DH did too, but he made me pick it up because he was worried about hantavirus. Thanks alot! Good hand washing does go a long way.

I don't want to shatter an illusion but if you see one mouse that means you have more. Don't get rid of the traps yet.

Better the little critter dies in a trap in the middle of the floor than if it dies in the wall stinking up the joint.
