So bummed

I got my new dvd's on Monday and planned to start on Tuesday afternoon. Unfortunately I was rear-ended yesterday and have minor whiplash. I know I will be fine in a few days, but as I am here previewing my new workouts I am getting really antsy. This accident really illustrates how very fragile life is and can change in an instant. Remember to cherish whoever you share tomorrow with.

Shayne,
I am so sorry for you. Neck injuries aren't fun. Hope you are feeling better soon.

You are doing the smart thing by taking it easy for a few days. A few years ago, I was rear-ended on my way to a 5K. It seemed like such a minor accident—the car was merely scratched and I felt OK, so I ran the race, anyway. But toward the end of the run, I did start to feel a bit of pain in my spine, which later worsened. I didn't think of it right away, but I'd had a crate full of textbooks on the seat behind me which must have hit me upon impact. Long story short, what seemed like an insignificant fender bender had actually done a good amount of damage to some discs in my spine and neck. They've gotten better with chiropractic care, but I do still have issues now and then that I didn't have before the accident. So my lesson learned was never underestimate a fender bender!

Sorry about your accident and injury. Rest up, follow doc's orders, and feel better soon!

Thank you all for your well wishes. I am feeling much better. As long as I don't do anything crazy like try to clean or carry a purse I am fine. I figure in a week or so I will be good as new. Until then at least I can walk for exercise.

I can relate, I had surgery on my neck last Friday and was so concerned about not working out for a week or two, but I must remind myself to take of the body and it will take care of me.

I'll try a wrokout tomorrow or Tuesday and see how I do bit probably no barbell just yet.
