Snacks

For snacks, I love to take some plain fat-free yogurt and stir in a few tablespoons of low-fat granola. The crunch and sweetness of the granola is a nice offset to the tanginess of the yogurt- and you're getting protein and calcium and some whole grains. It's fabulous.

I also like baby carrots - easy to eat and oh-so-yummy. I'm the kind of person who doesn't really like raw vegetables very much, unless they have some kind of dressing or dip on them. But baby carrots I can eat plain.

I will also admit to snacking on Baked Cheetos and Baked Ruffles, although I do not recommend that you follow suit. :) But, if you have an itch for something salty, they are better than their fried counterparts.

A handful of almonds or walnuts is always a tasty protein-packed choice. And you'll get some Omega-3's from those nuts too.

So many choices, so little time! And now, my stomach is growling from all this food talk. I better go find a snack! ;)

Do you have a frig at work to keep milk cold? I make a smoothie for breakfast but you can use them for snacks. I just take:

1C. skim milk
5 strawberries
1 banana and mix together.

I am trying to add the protein powder but just cannot get use to the taste. Also, here is the food processor I use. It is expensive but luckily my SIL sells Tupperware and she gave it to me for a Christmas gift. I love it and use it all the time to chop, mix and blend.

You can add any fruit you like or maybe some cinnamon, nutmeg etc.
