Just stopping by to say Hello. I started my prereqs for school with stats today. It has been fun so far. And, a real shell shock after not being in school for over 24 years.

Yesterday was KPC and might be again later this week.

After 4 1/2 days our power has finally been restored! It came on at about 3:30 this morning! I' so happy I can't tell you!

I've really missed you all but it will probably be a little while before I can post. I have so much to do to get myself organized around here. I had to throw out the entire contents of my refrigerator so I have major grocery shopping to do, and a mountain of laundry, too!

Oh yeah, and I could use a loooooooooong hot shower, too!

Hello Everyone.
Thank GOD, the weekend is almost here. I half way through my orientation for school-3 days of it. Plus, I already have been given homework to get ahead and start early on Sunday and Monday nights. It's a real sense of peace to finally get started.
Michele-We're VERY happy to see you again.

Michele ~ Oh you poor thing. Big HUGS to you. You really do need a break. Just when you think things are calming down something else happens. I will keep your FIL in my prayers. It is his foot again??? Is your DH home yet?

Jennifer - glad to hear things are smoothly progressing for you and your schooling. Have you come up with some sort of workout schedule yet? You are gonna be one busy woman!!!

I'm so stinkin' busy here - it never lets up. DH is coming home tonight - he went to South Carolina to trade the Chevelle (the one I told you he just bought) for a dragster. He drives me bonkers!!!!! 2 weeks ago he wanted ME to race the Chevelle. Is he crazy????? I value my life, there is no way I'm cut out for racing. LOL

My life gets busy this weekend. Workout schedule? My counselor is supposed to give me some sanity on hours of suggestion to study to allow for some breathing room.
My first class is princ of mgt, 512.

Lisa, there is no need to apologize and you are not interrupting anyone's conversation. We all chat here together!!! I don't think you've posted since you've gone on your vacation, how was that?

How are things in Smileyville? You guys, I'm sorry, but I just haven't had time to do a lot of posting. HOLY CRAP, I just wish everything would slow down. It seems like we've been hit with one thing after another for months on end and I'm SO READY for it to stop! :(

We went to see my FIL last night and it was so depressing. We had trouble rousing him, and when we did finally get him to wake up, he seemed confused and he was talking gibberish. He's a brilliant man who reads 2 newspapers a day, along with professional journals so this is a big change. His foot is an absolute mess, too. :(

Lisa -- You absolutely are not interrupting private conversations. If anything, the problem seems to be that none of us are having conversations lately. I've been so busy that I've been avoiding check-ins because I don't have time for lengthy personals. August is in the middle of a big project so she doesn't have time to post, and Dana is swamped, too. And Jen hasn't been around in forever!

Our check-in group has always gone in cycles where we have periods of great fun with lots of chatter followed by periods where no one has time for it :rolleyes: ;) . We seem to be in the latter phase at the moment. I'm so sorry if we did anything to make you feel unwelcome. I assure you -- you're QUITE a welcome addition to our group. Things will pick up around here just as soon as we get our personal lives in order.

Dana - DH is home now -- he got home a couple of days ago. I feel so sorry for him because his parents are having so much trouble. They're still without power and I think that's part of the reason why my FIL ended up back in the hospital -- the stress got to be too much for him. I brought my MIL's laundry home with me last night and I'm working on that now.

You're quite the busy lady these days. And, it's great that you provide such great support to your family. I know how what you mean by depressing. My Dad has changed so much post cancer. He is doing well but not the same as before.

Also, for Smileyville. I just finished my workshop orientation and Tues is when school FINALLY starts. I have one hour walk through. They REALLY want me to succeed.

I just got home from the hospital. Well, my FIL goes for an amputation first thing in the morning :( . They're planning to remove his big toe but I have a feeling it will be more than that. His foot looks awful! I would really appreciate you kind thoughts and prayers for hi. thanks you guys.

Jennifer -- You have my best wishes for school starting. this is very exciting for you!
 
Wow, Michele. That's alot to deal with. It never ends does it? You have my prayers today. I thank GOD that right now, my family is safe.

It's hard for me to explain to clients at work why I cannot accept their invitations. The questions would snowball about school. It's going to be a long hard road ahead but worth it.
