Smart Balance Peanut Butter

For your Friday enjoyment, I thought I'd start another peanut butter thread. I used to be an Adams girl, myself. But I LOVE the Smart Balance peanut butter--I love it too much, actually.

Favorite way to eat it:
A local bakery makes the best "High Five Fiber" bread with 100% whole wheat flour, flax, millet, oat and wheat bran, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds, etc. There are 5 grams of fiber a slice. I toast a slice, smear on some PB, and top with bananas or a little Smucker's spreadable fruit. Delish!!!

Your turn,

Carol F

Oh, that recipe sounds good! Can you find this PB at a regular grocery store if you live in a larger city?

Thanks!
Leanne

The stores don't carry Naturally More where I live (I would like the less fat part, since I could eat a whole jar if I let myself), but Smart Balance has Flax. I should try mixing in some wheat germ. All the grocery stores around me are carrying Smart Balance now. I had a little trouble when it first came out, but I think it's becoming better known.

I love Smart Balance PB too! My 4 y.o. DD is a PB&J freak so I really like that it is so easy to spread, moreso than the Smucker's Natural PB that I used to buy.

This is the one I use too. I eat half a whole wheat bagel topped with SB PB and a banana for breakfast every morning. It's my favorite breakfast. :)

OK, NOW I'm hungry. I love Smart Balance PB. I started buying it for my child that eats PB religiously and for myself too! I love the idea of mixing wheat germ with it... I'll definitely have to try that!

They have it at Super Wal*mart if you have one near you! I've been stocking up a few jars when I buy it as it seems to be growing in popularity (probably from me telling everyone about it! LOL).

I'm going to have to try this out! We are all peanut butter lovers here! In fact, I got home the other day and DD opened the door to let me in and had a spoonful of PB that she was enjoying.

I love the breakfast idea of half of a ww bagel, PB, and a banana...that sounds like my ideal breakfast! My only issue is cost...we go through PB like there's no tomorrow and I just wish the better peanut butters were sold in larger jars!

I'm addicted to Naturally More. I am eating it right out of the jar as I type this ( I've become pretty good at typing while eating PB). OMG, this stuff is great!! I also stock up at the Super wal Mart!! YUM YUM!!

I really prefer the Naturally More over the Smart Balance. I think the Smart Balance tastes kind of burnt for whatever reason.

I take a piece of high fiber bread toasted with Naturally More PB then cover it with fresh blueberries and strawberries - yummy!

Speaking of high fiber bread, I cannot eat inulin, the "naturally occurring fiber" they call chicory root fiber that they put in yogurts and breads. I had a horrible reaction to Fiber One bars because of the inulin - lots of gas or horrible cramping. It's hard to find a good, natural WW bread without it. It's getting as bad as high fructose corn syrup, I tell ya!

I spend so much dang time in the bread isle scouting out decent breads that don't have these :( Wish I lived in a town that had better health food store optionsx(

But, back to PB -- I agree that I almost prefer it over chocolate....almost:9

I have seen Smucker's all natural (just peanuts and salt, not other stuff added like in other so-called 'natural' PB's) in a larger jar, but not very often.

Food for life has quite a few varieties of whole grain breads (mostly sprouted grains) with no inulin.

I was going to try the SB PB, but when I read the ingredients, I decided it wasn't for me. Oil, molasses, salt? Nah.

I love Crazy Richards. It's only ingredient is peanuts, yet, somehow,it is still smooth and creamy like commercial brands!

Hey, Carol, glad to hear someone else likes SB!! I tried the Naturally More, but it's way too sweet for my liking. I can deal with a few more grams of fat in the SB, and I like that it has flax.

I spoon it into oatmeal made with skim milk and then stir in frozen blueberries. That's a breakfast made in heaven!
