Slimming thigh & reducing body fat help

I'm looking for the best combo cardio and weights to help trim my thick thighs. To put it in perspective, I have about a 30" in-seam and the inner thighs are 23 1/2"! I'm considering jogging/running on the treadmill for cardio and then looking for the suggestions on which of Cathe's DVD's to help tone/slim the thigh. Even though my thighs are quite big, they are quite muscular. I'd like to burn off this layer of fat (which isn't just limited to the thighs, BTW) and appear more "cut." Maybe I need to boost cardio? Focus on weights? I'm not sure and I'd like to hear from anyone who's found success slimming thighs and reducing body fat.

Thanks!

I know people might get tired of me saying this, but it really starts (and is most importantly) due to diet. If your diet sucks, the fat is not going to go away. I don't mean you have to be squeaky clean 24/7, but you really have to watch your fat/carb/protein ratios.

Secondly, finding what works for you in the cardio/weights department is somewhat trial and error. Some don't like to lift super heavy for legs because they build muscle too quickly and don't like that look. I find the best formula for me is mixing a couple heavy split days with endurance lifting and circuits...and I change up what workouts I do constantly to meet those needs.

For cardio, I mix that up as well. I like to run maybe twice a week, usually adding tempo, steady state and/or HIIT. Usually 1 day is HIIT. I also spin, take a sports circuit class, and do some stepping at home.

I think the main theme of this for me is variety, eating cleanly, and keeping consistent with the program. HTH!
