Slim series vs. new Tracie Long vids-what to buy

Does anyone out here have both of these, such that you can offer a comparison? I realize that they're probably completely different, and I probably shouldn't even be thinking of spending the money, but, if I was going to buy one or the other, does anyone have an opinion as to which would be better? I like the idea of the high rep/low weight of SS for variety, but I'm tempted by what I'm seeing hearing about the new Tracie Long production workouts. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! :7

Thanks!

I have both, and just did "Firm it Up" (from Slim Series) last night.
If I had to choose between the two (don't make me!), I'd go with the Tracie Long Productions workouts. They focus on the core and contain quite a few innovative moves using the stability ball and medicine ball. I have so far just done the first DVD (which you are supposed to master before going on to the others) and it is tough! Some very challenging core work and some range-of-motion work with the medicine ball that I think made my shoulder ROM better after just 3 workouts.
The three workouts are similar, but not so much that they seem repetitive. Workouts 2 and 3 work in more cardio, and workout 3 does more plyometric work with a step.

Slim Series workouts are very similar to each other. Firm it Up is lower body only (with some killer butt work!), while the others emphasize lower body but also incorporate upper body with light weights.

SS is effectiver, but hard to do for a long period because it can lead to overtraining, IMO.

Kathryn,

Thanks. I don't know if I'm going to get anything, but I appreciate the input. If I got SS, I don't know if would do all of them in a rotation, although I guess that would be most effective.

I guess I could just plan to get them both, not both now, but over time. It sounds like you might think that was a good idea, LOL!

Well, I'm a "collector," so I'm not sure if I'm a good recommendation to follow!

You can get the Slim series workouts individually, I think. You might try one or two of them, like "Mix it Up," a workout that has a little of everything, including resistance band work and light weights, and "Firm it up," the lower body workout.

I like "Mix it up" and "Firm it up". I haven't done them for a while (except for "Firm it up," so I might like others as well. They are so similar, it really doesn't matter much.
