sleeping issue

hi guys

i thought i'd add this as a separate post....

finn has had a pretty consistent wake time in the am of 7 since he was really tiny. in the last 3 weeks it has shifted to 6:30, then 6:15, then 5:50, and now 5am! i have tried nursing him and putting him back down, letting him listen to music or a mobile, letting him fuss just a little, and pushing his bedtime back as much as i can (about 15 minutes). nothing is helping. any thoughts? it isn't hunger he wakes up to as often he will be awake for 45-60 minutes before eating.

thanks for any help you can provide.

Morris, you say he waits 45-60 minutes to eat. Do you leave him in his crib? If you don't try waiting it out for a while to take him out of bed and nurse him. Also, make sure his room is dark . Next , I know you are back to work, what time are you up? He may be hearing you. It may be a phase, or do trial and error to see what works. DD#1 was an early riser, my hubby was up early for work though. I would nurse her, then put her in the take along swing and hubby moved her as he went to different rooms. If dd#2 wakes early, we usually leave her in her bed and she waits for me to get up. She has waited in her crib for over an hour some days.

thanks for the ideas
i try leaving him in his crib as he isn't in distress usually, but he is loud and wakes up dh. i am an early early riser, but i use that time for me(ie exercise). i hope it is only a stage and am playing with changing his bedtime in the hopes he will then sleep later.

tomorrow is saturday - i'll try just leaving him in his crib
