Sleeping Cheetahs Sunday!

Good morning ladies!

*Pokes head in and looks around* You aren’t all still sleeping are you?

Well, there was no run for me this morning between the cold and needing to recover from the marathon horse show yesterday. We left the farm for the show at 9 am and got back to the farm at 10 PM…I hate winter horse shows!!! Plus, I’m going to have a *VERY* long riding day today so, needless to say, when my alarm went off at 5:30 this morning I rolled over, promptly shut it off and went back to sleep. I may try to do something tonight but that will depend on much energy I have left at the end of the day.

Sunny – How did DS’s game go? I hope he did well. You just keep plugging away at your training…you know the end result will be so worth it.

Linda – I’m sorry to hear you’re still feeling a bit cruddy. I hope you’re back to 100% soon!

Lori – I’m incredibly relieved about my pony but I’m so on edge right now knowing that the deal still isn’t completely final. Sometimes the tiniest things can squash a deal and I’m praying that nothing happens before Tuesday. Your dinner last night sounded YUMMY!

Lorie – Yay for booty DOMS right? I think that’s my favorite kind *heehee*. I hope you had a great day of football watching yesterday.

Shelly – I’m so glad you had an easy night on Friday…you certainly have been busy! Wow, you go girl…20 miles today!? You’re incredible! There is a deal in the works on the *other* mare…we’ll see. My SO runs a little. If I run with him it will be at his distance and pace (about 3 miles at a 11 minute or so pace) so it’ll be a light jog for me, but I’ve been wanting to be able to go out with him for awhile to keep him motivated. He doesn’t really enjoy it…only does it to keep his weight in check.

Carole – Nice little mish mosh you did yesterday. Enjoy your Sunday football!!!

Christine – Happy Diwali to you too! I hope you had a wonderful time last night. Wow, what a great workout yesterday. Enjoy your trail run today!!!

Susan – Sending {{{{HUGS}}}} and prayers to you and Mary! She (and you) are going through such a tough time right now…stay strong! Glad to hear that you’re seeing great results in your upper body with the increased weight training…good work!

Kristi – I’ve got a little Corolla that wouldn’t take you more than an hour to detail…wanna come over. J/K!!! Actually, I’m due to take it in for an oil change and that’s included in the price so I think I’ll take the lazy way out! ITA about the mall crowds during the holidays. That’s why I tend to do my shopping at odd times…like first thing Monday morning while everyone is at work or asleep!

Gotta refill the java...sounds like I'm channeling Wendy! BBL!

Good morning cheetahs

Wendi...thanks for starting us off today. Sorry you missed your run today. I can only imagine how tired you must be. I hope your long riding day will go smoothly...

Christine...I didn't know you hadn't tried a real aerobics shoe yet. Ryka's are the best!! Glad DH made is home...Hope you 2 had a great time last night...:)

Susan...Thanks for updating us on Mary. So sorry to hear about the depression. She is in my thoughts and prayers. YES! I have been in that decluttering mood for awhile. My DH hates it too...:)...Good workout yesterday with the EXT and GS Legs. I do understand your thinking of "balance" . I think there are times we put to much stress on completing certain workouts...usually thats when you need a rest day!

Linda...thanks re my floors...:)...I am not sure when I will try Amy's ASC2 again. But when I have a lot of time! Glad you liked it better.

Lori...sorry your run got cut short. Hope your dinner was a fun one last night, sounds yummy.

Kristi..wow! way to go on detailing both vehicles.

Well, change of plans for me yesterday! My nephew called early to let us know he was playing in a wheelchair basketball tournament. (For any of you that don't know, my nephew John was paralyzed in a motorcycle crash July of 2006) So after church my DH and I went and watched 3 games that John played in. WOW. I am so amazed how tough these guys play. John's team won all their games. John has been in a very depressed state lately and is also fighting a nasty bed sore. I cannot even explain how happy it made me feel to watch him having fun yesterday....:)...:)....Needless to say I never got in a workout but I didn't mind at all.

Today will be a 12 mile run with my sister and friend. Then of course..FOOTBALL!

Good Morning Cheetahs!:)

How is everyone? Ready to start another week? Or would you consider this the end of the week! LOL

Im not sure what the plans are here today. I got to sleep in today. DH got up with DS and everytime I woke up I planned on getting up and then I would fall back to sleep..hehe so I finally got my lazy butt out of bed at 9:40. Our company didn't leave last night until 2 so needless to say, I needed to catch up on some z's.

Wendi** You sound pretty tired. Alot like I did today. Hopefully you will get to squeeze something in today.

Carole** Thats so sad about your nephew. He is obvioulsy doing o.k with it? I think I would have a hard time dealing with that, but I guess you realize its just nice to be alive? Sounds like you had a nice day.Enjoy your run today!

I think I will probably end up doing BM2 or something today. Its suppose to be snowing and raining all day so its not looking good for outside again. If it were just me, Id be o.k but I don't want DS to get chilly.

Have a good Sunday everyone!

Lori:)

Good morning cheetahs.... it's a sleepy slow Sunday I see! We had a nice party last night, celebrating the Marine Corps Birthday.
Happy Veterans day! I wish we made as much out of this holiday as we do Thanksgiving or Christmas. Our veterans deserve it!
Anyway, I digress.... We had the traditional steak BBQ, everyone dressed in their camos or military type wear and of course topped it off with the traditional cannon firing. DH collects miniature cannons, many of them capable of firing.
Since I ended up having more time then I thought since I had the night before off I was able to do Amy's ACSII again. I'm proud to say that I did MUCH better the second time around and have the first 4 segments down pretty well. It is definitely doable and so much fun!!!!

Wendi- Wow, that was a marathon horse show!!! You must be tired.... and another long day today?   Wouldn't blame you a bit for scratching a workout today.... I think you are getting plenty of exercise with your job!! I think it's great that your SO does any kind of running with you. I'd be ecstatic if my DH even WALKED with me, much less ran.... at any speed!

Lori- Sounds like we had almost identical menus last night! Instead of potatos I made a whole wheat pasta salad. Anyway, the crowd I had over were all old fuddy duddys , like us and we were finished before 10pm! I was in bed by 11pm but that's still late for me!

Carole- Hope you get in a good long run today! Yay.... football Sunday:7 :7 :7 :7 Thanks for the update about John. I've been wondering how he's doing. That's great that his team won. Sounds like he definitely needed the mental boost. My new Montrails came yesterday! They feel so nice!! I got them at www.onlineshoes.com.

Christine- How was your late Indian food party?? Hope you get in that trail run today. I plan on ordering Kelly's new Step Boxing dvd next so I'll let you know the scoop on it but I think you'd also enjoy the Cardio Sculpting one also.

Susan- so how are the Bickersons today? I love that name you have for them! Too cute :) Did you get any of the clutter cleared out?
I wish I could declutter. My DH is a MAJOR packrat.... fortunately an organized clean packrat but still....... Re: my marathon goal time. Don't really have one actually. My last formal marathon I ran in 4:52 but I ran that one injured so I can't really use it as a comparison. I ran almost 27 miles in 5:15 in Man against Horse but I was going up and down a mountain on a rocky narrow trail, so I have really no idea what I am capable of with a normal flat course!
My plan is to relax and enjoy a comfortable pace and just see what happens!

Linda- Great job on getting through ACSII yesterday. Sounds similar to my first attempt. You'll be glad to hear that my second attempt was far better. It doesn't take as long to "get it" as you may think.

Kristi- I'm impressed with your accomplishments yesterday! I hope your DH appreciates you!!!

Time to quit stalling and get out there and run. It's my last 20 miler today...
later

Good Morning Cheetah Babes –

Quiet in Cheetahville today. The party was really fun. I ate too much, of course, but not as “too much” as I had feared. The food was good, though! Today is a dinner party for our friends (and DH’s boss – great couple). On the menu is Cioppini, steaks, potatoes (sweet potato option – which I’ll take), salad and dessert (which Lynn is bringing). I think I can eat in reasonable portions tonight. I’m making the Cioppini, so it will be low fat and the steaks are lean. It’s raining right now, so we may or may not get in the trail run. I actually feel as if I ran a marathon yesterday (not enough sleep – got home at 1:30AM). So we’ll see.

Wendi – Your riding is a good workout on it’s own, so don’t feel too badly. I would have turned off the alarm this morning as well. You must be exhausted! Enjoy your day.

Carole – I’ve used cross trainers before, and Rykas before, but never the Enlight or Engage. I thought the higher top would drive me crazy, but it doesn’t really. I can feel it, but it’s not bothersome. What a great day for you yesterday! I’m happy John got to have a great day. He remains in my prayers.

Lori – I wish I could sleep in, but as soon as the sun is up, my eyes pop open and that’s all she wrote! I was in bed around 1:30 last night, so I know how you feel. What state are you in? Snow and rain today? I hate that mix. Ick. Hopefully the ground is warm enough that nothing will stick yet.

Shelly – I agree that the veterans deserve it. Too cool about the mini cannons! Glad you had fun with ACSII. I find step workouts tend to be easier the second time, simply because you know what to expect. I like KCM’s Step Boxing, although she feels rushed. I do get a killer 30 minute workout (I don’t do the sculpting afterwards). I’m thinking of you out there running 20 miles. You Go Girl! I’m cheering you on – can you hear me? :+

Take care all!

It is very quiet in Cheetah land today!!!

I've been done with my workout for a while now. I did BM2 minus the UB work and then I did GS UB Timesavers. It took be about 2 hours to do. I was also going to wear my HRM but after looking at it when the warmup was over, it told me that I only burned 6 cals. Now....I don't know about you, but I would have thought I would have burned 6 cals just watching it and not moving. Something wasn't right so I knew that it was just going to annoy me my whole workout. I was also afraid that I was going to beleive what it was telling me, then half way through the workout call it quits! LOL:+ So i took it off again.

Shelly** Sounds like you had a nice night as well. I enjoyed the company but there was a point in time where I thought I was gonna fall asleep! She felt the same way as I did but the guys were enjoying their chat. I wonder how tired they are today? Enjoy your 20 miler:eek:

Christine** I said it on yesterdays thread and Ill say it again..sometimes its not what we eat but how much we eat of it.I think if you keep portion controls controlled then everything will be o.k. If ya end up rolling away from the table...not good! LOL
Im in canada..far, far away, where anything and everything falls!

I think I may sit down with the sears catalouge and order some christmas gifts!!!

Lori:)

Hi Girls.

I'm home. I've been home since early this afternoon actually. Just finished Low Max blasts only premix with the warm up and stretch. Great HIIT work out. Kicked my butt good!}(

Anywho...our getaway was nice. We hit the road heading south by about 12:30 friday afternoon so we were at our destination by 3ish. We checked in to the hotel, hit a couple of stores to pick up some stuff I forgot to pack as well as some CABS for the room and came back and unpacked. By the time we were done with all of that it was time to get ready for dinner. We ate at one of the local pubs. Apparently there were 120 pub type places to choose from in the area of Baltimore we were in. By the time we were done with dinner we were both beat so we hit the room early and ordered "Super Bad" on tv. It was okay but I liked "Knocked Up" MUCH better! We were up by 8am the next morning and having breakfast by 9. After that we headed over to the actual "Inner Harbor" area and went to the Aquarium/dolphin show. That was nice. Then we hit the Maritime Museum, had lunch, went to the observations deck of Baltimore's "World Trade Center" building and then jumped on a water taxi back to the hotel to catch a nap. It was 4pm by the time we got back. Long, COLD, tired day. We had 6:30 dinner reservations at a seafood place that we had picked out online before going. We thought it was fancy so I put on a dress with high heeled boots and DH wore slacks and a button down. We were overdressed. Oh well. The food was good though. After dinner we sat around and watched some of "The American President" b/c it was on and I just LOVE that movie! Anyway, we eventually got our butts off the bed and got changed back into casual clothes and hit 2 more pubs. We were out for a few hours, had a couple of drinks and listened to some good music. I think we were in bed by midnight though. So much for a pub crawl! LOL This morning we got up, packed, had breakfast and beat feet to get home at a reasonable hour. I would have liked one more day there but who knew. This pkg was for 2 nights so we would have had to pay extra and it wasn't what you call a cheap weekend to begin with! Had a really good time though.

Time for me to get cleaned up and eat something for dinner.

Hope to be back tonight to try and catch up on what went on while I was gone and personals!

Later babes!

Goodness! Where is everyone?

Wendi - Oh my! That sounds like a very long day at the show! Hope you had a good day of riding today! I'll bet you are really tired!

Wendy - I love the Inner Harbor! I have only been to Baltimore once, but I loved it! I loved the food and the shopping }( }( Glad you had a good time!

Lori - I don't blame you for taking the HRM off! It irritates me to death when my "gadgets" don't work the way they are supposed to! Enjoy the shopping!

Christine - Glad you enjoyed the party! The food sounds wonderful! But, I have a silly question :+ What is Cioppini? Enjoy the run, if it quits raining!

Shelley - The party sounds great! I agree with you on needing to celebrate the Veterans more! I hate how it seems that people just take them for granted and forget about them, once it is all over. Good job on tackling ASCII again! I started to do it again this morning to see if I would do better, since reviewing the "tutorial", but I decided I didn't want any choreography at all, so I ran ;)
Later this week, I will try again! I am proud of you! :7

Carole - That is great that you got to watch John play basketball and that they won! I am sorry he is going through a bout of depression and the bedsore. I hope he cheers up! Maybe this will help him! Enjoy your run with your sister and friend!

Today I ran 8 miles and did 4DS C&B. It felt really cold today. It was around 35 when I started and around 47 by the time I finished. But it felt a lot colder! It was cloudy, breezy and kind of damp, so that is probably why. I went back to 4DS this week! :+ I may stick to it for a while longer or either alternate weeks with SloMo. I love 4DS! :7

Cathy - Hope you have a safe trip home and that you had fun!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Linda

Wendy- welcome back! We missd you! Glad you had fun in Baltimore!

Linda - Cioppini is kind of a seafood stew. It's tomato based, with crab, shrimp, scallops, clams, mussels and fish. Smells divine. Haven't tried it yet. :+ I know what you mean about damp weather feeling cooler! Sounds like a great workout you had.

I ended up doing Step Blast. I took Jimmy to the dog park to get his excess energy out, then came back and did Step Blast. Haven't done it for a while and really enjoyed it.
