Skin Care

Cathe, just wanted to know if you do anything in particular for your skin. I think you are around my age, 40, and the signs of aging are starting to creep in for me, and you look great. What skin care do you use, and also have you ever had any treatments, like microdermabrasion, peels, etc. Thank you, Pam:)

Hi Pam! Thank you for a most gracious compliment. Yes, I agree, as I approach 40 I am seeing the "signs of aging" moving in rather fast. While we can't change that, we certainly can train those wrinkles to be fit. I believe a "fit" wrinkle has better posture, holding up to gravity much better ;-). While this sounds a little silly, I do find truth in this.

This is mainly because the benefits of fitness include better skin cell regeneration. A good sweat and good skin care program go hand in hand. Add in a good diet and we have the best of all worlds. These three components will give the skin a better overall glow and uplifted appearance.

I personally favor Bobbi Brown cosmetics and most of her skin care line (my skin is sensitive to a couple of the flower extract products). It has proved to work well for my skin type. I think everyone's skin is so individual so you really need to research what works best for you. Hope this helps :)

Cathe (and Dawn),
I think you are so right about fitness as the fountain of youth. As I age, I see people my own age who comment on how young I look as compared to themselves. I always tell them that good nutrition and a good fitness level are key. As a I age, sunscreen is becoming a necessity, also.
I agree, though, your skin is very lovely with such a nice even tone. Good genes don't hurt either!
Dawn, I have started microdermabrasion (MegaPeel) with glycolic acid prep. I love it. I've only had one treatment and already see an improvement. But, as I said, sunscreen is a must or you'll undo your progress. I highly recommend it.
