So the garden state parkway and the turnpike should be fine but my DH called me and told me that the conditions on route 36 are horrible! I have to take that road to get to work! So I am going in a litle late...hoping maybe conditions will improve or atleast I can let some rush hour traffic pass me by...I toyed with staying home today but I feel bad...the rest of the ride is probably fine...I'm only on 36 for about 10-15 mins out of an hour's ride!!! I hate guilt! lol

Have a great work out!

I work at an Air Force base. The wing commander has wisely closed the base for all non-weather essential personell. That would be me! YIPPEE YAHHOO! I don't have to go to work & I'll get paid for it without it affecting my vacation time. Again, YIPPEE YAHOO!

If I lived in NJ and had to drive today, I would stay home. I'm no hero. As it is, I only need to take the subway to work, and I'm going in late anyway because my alarm didn't go off this morning! Ouch!

We have about 2-3 inches of snow and though the roads are cleared, schools are closed today in Luray, Virginia. The county we live in will close schools if they see a flake fall out of the sky. Good for us though since Ashley is not feeling well today so I am not really complaining, but when the school system does this all the time it really begins to be a pain. Husband coming home today from Baltimore where they got 8 inches of snow up there, but he has the truck...all new snow tires too so I am sure he will do just fine getting home. Miss him so.

Hey Wendy!! Where in Jersey are you?
I work in Tinton Falls and luckily can take the parkway right there - but rt 35 and 36 were really rough over the weekend! We really did get A LOT fast! I feel bad for all the snow plow workers! They must have had a TOUGH weekend!

I live off exit 117 of Garden State Parkway but I work about an hour north in Union County.

I ended up getting here fine...took a little over an hour...only mishap I had was some loss of traction on my FINAL turn before I hit my parking lot at work. All is okay though.

I thought about staying home but I knew the major roads were fine and I don't have much of a commute on the smaller roads so I felt bad. Like I said...dang guilt...it's such a pain!!! LOL

Actually though...I had been cooped up since friday when I got home from work so it's probably a good thing that I got out of the house today!

Have a great work out!

Hey wow! I grew up in Hazlet!! It's such a small world sometimes! Then after collage and living in Manhattan for a while, my husband and I just got a house in Middletown/Red Bank area. Nothing like coming back home.

Be careful on your drive home! It's ICY out there !! Shouldn't feel TOO guilty about calling out - even those major roads have some hidden ice!

oh, I miss NJ...born and raised in Cranford, NJ and moved here 9 years ago.

I live in Boston and we got whalloped with 2+ feet of snow. :) I came into work, but was late, and the roads were a little hairy. It was mainly the side roads that were bad and mostly the issue was that they didn't plow the roads and highways to leave enough space in the road! SO not only are you slipping, but the roads are smaller and you are now closer to other cars. They bascially close everything here today (schools, offices, courts, etc.) and a lot of things were called off for tomorrow too (although that didn't make sense ot me that they called Tuesday school off on Sunday morning), but we are still plugging away here at work!

You guys are near me--I'm in South Orange. The roads here seem OK though--but I won't be traveling any further than the 2 blocks to and from work.
