Similar but different problem than Sparrow's

OK about 2 months before the road trip I really started pushing myself & easily broke through a 5 year plateau (translation: I should've done this years ago).

So I've been having lots of fun really upping the weights & seeing results (cardio has pretty much been the same). I've gone up at least 5 lbs on all upper body weights & about 20 lbs on some leg exercises. But 3 people during the last 2 weeks said they noticed I've been "bulking up." Not sure I get it--I'm still 5'3", 110 lbs--but no one has ever said this to me before. I didn't even think it was possible b/c I have a really small build. A trainer last night told me he's seen me looking much leaner in the past.

Not sure what to do--I guess I could stop pushing myself & just stay at my current weights. Or I could start doing high reps/low weights to lean out again, which I really don't want to do b/c it's more time consuming & not as much fun. Or I could keep having fun pushing myself & see where it takes me.

What do you guys think?

Maximus,

GO! GO! GO!}( LOL!

Push it girl! Hey, what do you think I am trying to do? Just what you mentioned. I noticed too that I have bulked up once again because my clothes tell me so. Tried to get this dress on that I have and it is so tight around my chest and arm area now. WOW!
If I were you, I would be thrilled. I am 5' 7 1/2" so I could use some bulking. It does take alot for me to bulk up. Can you imagine though if your arms got bigger! People would step back when you walked on by in fear! I would go for it!!!!

If you don't like the look you're getting with your current program, but don't want to spend any more time on it that you already are, what about starying with the same weights, but reducing the amount of sets (if you do 3, only do 2), and increasing your cardio somewhat (to act as a bit of a brake on muscle development)? That way, you get to keep the heavy weights you love but might get different results from them.
