silly question-online dating

So after having my heart broken over the summer I got to the point that I felt it would do me good to get out in the dating world again. I thought online dating might help me break the ice with people since I am not the type of person to just approach someone. My problem? I am using eharmony's site. I usually get through the answer the question phase okay but once I read the answers to their questions and it is time for me to start the open communication process I have no idea what to say. I know it sounds silly and I guess since they sent me their questions last I should be the one to start the process but I have no idea how. This is my first time making an effort to date because most of the time things just happened between me and people I would get to know in my everyday life. Any help for the dating clueless?

I've done the online dating thing on and off for one year. First, take it with a grain of salt. Be positive, hopeful, but just take it slowly, and put yourself out there in other ways, too.

As far as writing your profile, it helps to have a good friend help! She can help highlight your most positive assets! Be descriptive, but don't go overboard, you want to leave some mystery. Everyone loves to see movies, travel, have fun, laugh. So, be specific in those things. AND, be positive. Stay away from writing about "what I don't want" or rehashing old relationship drama - you can disclose that later or just ignore those you don't find interesting.

Be positive, be descriptive - yet short and simple.

And, funny you just asked this, because I literally just read this article - Great reminder: http://www.skirt.com/node/543

Good luck.
