So, the Tool show here sold out in 20 minutes. They added a second one. It goes on sale tomorrow at 5 p.m.

I get to go to Hilary Duff instead.

Why do concerts have to be so EXPENSIVE?

Man, am I ever whiny today:p

they are expensive because they have us by the you know whats!

go ahead, be whiny. so am i. just when i thought i was on my way to a great running/workout season, my achilles and allergies flare up.

think we should start a thread on what we are whiny about this week?

enjoy hilary. should be fun!

What instead of going to tool you are going to Hilary Duff? That stinks that it sold out in 20 min. Maybe you can buy some on ebay closer to the date for a resonable price.
When they came to Edmonton we bought 8 tickets the max you could buy and had a hard time getting rid of them and had to sell them for what we paid plus shipping.
I really hope they come out with a tour DVD. The show in 2006 was amazing and I think that 10,000 days is one of their best albums so far.
If you are a big Maynard freak you could google Pusifer and check out their site. As far as I know it is one of Maynard's side projects to look forward to.

I'm taking my DD to Hilary Duff. It will be her first concert. And I didn't think I could afford both..... BUT.....

A friend has an extra ticket and he offered it to me so....

I'M GOING TO TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!

I love 10,000 Days. I've seen them three times but I really wanna see them tour this album.

And yes, I'm a big Maynard freak:p

How cool Shelly!!!! I saw TOOL in concert a few years ago. I found it so interesting b/c he stood behind the band the entire concert. I LOVE Tool!!! Please tell us all about it!!!

Lara - yeah, when he sings with Tool, he generally stands in front of a screen on stage. When he sings with A Perfect Circle, he's much more gregarious and interacts with the audience a ton. Of course, he also wears nothing but a teensy pair of underwear and a woman's wig, but we won't go there:p

Well, I think the cost of shows has a lot to do with the number of people that are involved in putting them on. Besides the artist, promoters, a venue...you've got the roadies and everyone who works for the band. Probably some sort of union workers. Health care costs, unemployment insurance...all that pricey stuff.

And....people shell out the cash to go...

I won't go to a show anymore unless it's a big time event. I'll see Bruce Cockburn whenever he comes to town. But he's very low-cost and worth more than what they charge.

My husband HAS to go see Rush whenever they come to town. I don't even ask him what the ticket price is anymore - I think he uses part of his annual bonus to go. He asked if I wanted to go this time. I gave him a blank "are you effing kidding?" look.

Rush? Ewwwwwwwww....

Yeah, I know about the costs involved to put on a concert, but still...:p

The $50 t-shirt price is a killer. I'll get a Hilary one for Sophie, but Tool will have to do without my t-shirt money.

I'm doing the happy dance for you, even if it seems rather un-Maynard like. I'm still excited that I have Allman Brothers tickets.....and bummed I won't get to see Phil Lesh & Friends (but I get to see Cathe that weekend instead)

The stage for their last tour was cool not like anything they had done previous. The videos were played on a white back and floor of the stage. Pre show the rodies had to wear socks to set up. Maynard was in the front with the rest of the band sporting a cowboy hat, mohawk, no shirt, tight jeans with large belt buckle, and cowboy boots. His moves are quite intoxicating ;-)
I hope they choose to tour more of Canada :(
I heard that the stage set up is going to be completely different. Maybe they will have a Rosetta Stone/Area 51 theme??
I wonder how Danny is making out with his ripped bicep?
I am so jealous that you are going you must tell us how it went.

I've seen pics of Maynard sporting the mohawk. I'm glad to hear he's more out in front on this tour, although his almost acoustic version of Pushit on the last tour was absolutely incredible sung in front of that backlit screen. Yeah, that man could do anything he wanted with me as long as he sang while he did it.

I can't wait to see Rosetta Stoned live and hear Wings for Marie 1 and 2 back to back.

I guess he must be healing okay. A ripped bicep sounds horribly painful.
