Shrinking Violets Check-in for March 25-31, 2007

Good morning, Violets! I am up after midnight with cramps. I am too excited to sleep anyway with all this Road Trip talk. This is the final week of March. Have a great one! It will be a FIRM and TLT recovery week for me. I just completed my first 12-week Cathe rotation for 2007!

Jean and Wendy, I am looking forward to meeting you in July. Wendy, I told Cheetah Cathy to save her money in case Cathe has last minute cancellations like she did in 2005. People who need to fly cannot usually plan to be there when someone cancels a few days before the event. I am staying at the Fairfield Inn too, so we will definitely get together.

I am not sure if I will get the chance to work out today but if I do it will be a leg burner of some sort. I'm thinking possibly BBC's butt and legs again!}(

I plan to re-start the X again tmrw as I am on the upswing from this cold! YEAY!:D

I didn't get very much in the way of sleep last night so I am dog tired. I hope to be able to catch a nap later. In the meantime I'll just have to deal...*BIG yawn*

Well, I'm off to get more coffee....

Wendy, that is so cool that you are going to drop in for the RT. Getting to meet you and Heather will be such a pleasure. Glad to hear your cold is taking a turn for the better. That nap later will do you some good.

Heather, hope you get some rest too. Hope it's not all the RT talk keeping you awake. August will seem like it's in a different century if you're not sleeping much between now and then.

As for workouts, I haven't done anything formal the last couple of days. Just lots of walking. We went to San Francisco for a few days. DD was on spring break and that's where she wanted to go. We toured Alcatraz and drove to Monterey to go to the Aquarium. We walked around Fishermen's Wharf and checked out the shops. Good thing I'm not much of a shopper, lots of cool things to buy. I like to look, but am not much into souveniers.

Tomorrow I will be back to routine exercise. Now I just need to make a plan so I can tone up and lose some jiggle before the RT.

Shrinking Violets Check-in

Wow! I already checked in today. I so do not remember that! I am up to my butt in check-ins and cannot keep them straight! :eek: I am going for the title of Cathe check-in queen in case you are wondering. :7 My game plan is to join so many check-ins that I do not have time to overeat! ;-)

I was planning to do a workout first thing this morning, but I was sidelined with cramps from hell. Then my heating pad chose this day to die on me. I had to make an emergency run to the store to buy a new one.

I was a little concerned because airfare to Philadelphia has doubled since Cathe first stating talking about the Road Trip. No worries because I checked my account and figured out a way to fly first class on miles! I had to buy some miles to qualify, but it was still way cheaper than paying for plane tickets. This will be my first time to fly first class. I am excited! :7 I put my tickets on hold for a few days until the extra miles are credited to my account.

With the money I saved, I bought a pair of Asics Gel 1120 running shoes tonight. I went to Academy for walking shoes, but I ended up buying these instead. Walking shoes do not feel good on my feet. I tried on countless walking shoes and running shoes before settling on this pair. Wow! They feel amazing on my feet. They are so much cushier and more comfortable than my Nike Shox running shoes and cheaper too! The store stayed open 25 minutes after closing time just for me! Yes, I am a very good customer. :7 LOL! I was not planning to buy more shoes when I headed out tonight. I was just going to buy some cheese for tomorrow. My car suddenly turned into the Academy parking lot, and a new box of shoes was in my hot little hands before I know what hit me. :7

After my cramps settled down, I finally did Tracie Long’s Better Burn Better Buns. I love the stretches in this one. The medicine ball cardio is fun too, and my lower body felt good by the end of the hour. I am looking forward to Jen’s workout later this week.

The cheese and chocolate party starts in a few hours. :p Who wants to join me? ;-)

Wendy, are we going line dancing in August? :7

Jean, I hope the Road Trip talk settles down soon. This is my play week, but I need to start getting to bed earlier again next week. The cramps are the real problem right now. Hopefully, I will sleep better tonight.

This morning was Rythmic Step (sort of). I feeling kind of blahhhh from the bad eating and not getting enough water on my trip. Today will be lots of liquid and good food.

Heather, too funny on keeping the store open jsut for you. Enjoy your recovery week.

I did BBC Butt and Legs weight section y'day. Great burner! Today I re-start the X in week 11, day 3 with shoulders and arms/ARX. I hope I have the strength to get through it!:eek:

I am done with Shoulders and Arms and ARX. I feel GREAT! I upped my weights where I could. I wanted to go out with a bang as that was the last time doing that work out as I am nearing the end of the rotation...

I went and ran some errands this morning. I stopped in Target for a few things and OMG...I walked out with a cart-full having spent $165.00!!!! LOL I love to shop! Can you tell? :p

Okay, I'm outta here...gotta hit the showers before DS wants up!

Shrinking Violets Check-in

Good morning, Violets! I had a good day yesterday. I did the Hare for the first time. I love the dancy ballroom aerobics. A light workout was just right for yesterday because I was so tired after not sleeping enough this weekend. All the Road Trip talk got me too excited! :7

I returned to chocolate and cheese with control and was not tempted to binge or overeat either one of them. Kozy Shack black forest pudding cups are so yummy with chocolate pudding and cherries. :9 They do not have any high fructose corn syrup or hydrogenated oil. I try to avoid those junk ingredients even when I enjoy treats.

I fell asleep early last night instead of updating my journal and check-ins. I was wide awake at 2:30 a.m. this morning! I have already prayed and enjoyed my quiet time. It is time for my workout. I am planning to do Cardio Burn this morning.

Jean, I am looking forward to meeting you. It is nuts that we only live 90 miles apart and are flying all the way to New Jersey to meet each other! :7 LOL!

Wendy, my boots will be ready! I hope I can fit them in my suitcase with all my workout shoes. :7 LOL!

Good morning all.

This morning was HC Inteval Blast w/leg drills. My legs are not happy with me right now.

Tonight, DH and I are off to look at cars. We looked last night for a little, but don't know what we want. His truck got hit last week and the insurance thought they were going to fix it and now they are totaling it. We weren't ready to look at cars yet, but now I guess we have no choice.

What's this talk about boots and line dancing? Want hear something crazy? I've lived in TX for 23+ years and I don't even own a pair of cowboy boots. How sad is that?

Heather, maybe we can get together before the RT to meet. I know I'll be in Waco the first weekend of June for a wedding. Is that very far from you? I'm not sure what the family schedule will be like revolving around the pre-wedding activities, but maybe if its not far from you, we could meet up.

Gotta run, I've been typing too long and need to get ready for work.

Hey guys,

Just wanted to check in and say hello! I have busy for a while, but have got into the zone of working out and eating right now! I am planning out my meals and exercising atleast 6 days a week. I have three months to get into my bathing suit from last year! Geez!!

I did for exercise yesterday the Double upperbody from BM2 and it is a killer! My whole UB is sore!! Also I did some taebo cardio around 10:00 last night.

Today I will probably do some abs and not sure on the cardio. I was lifting a heavy bag of dog food and a case of water and maybe put some strain on my knee. They say the older you get the more you fall apart! It just hurts when I go up or down stairs. I did taebo pretty good last night. I will probably try some running on the TM. I will stop if any pain of course!

I hope all of you ladies have been doing well! There is talk of the road trip huh? I missed it again!:(

This morning for me was 2.5 mile jog. Slept in too long for anything else. The mornings are really warming up and the humidity was high. I'm not use to that. I guess I better start doing more outdoor stuff to get my body adjusted.

This morning I got up and did S&H legs followed by the floor work from GS. Ended up being a great lower body workout.

Hopefully we will be getting a car today. I think we narrowed it down.

Sorry I missed checking in y'day. I ended up taking a rest day instead anyway! Today I took a spin class at the gym and I am getting ready to do some yoga now. Tomorrow will be Legs and Back/ARX!

Shrinking Violets Check-in

Good morning, Violets. Well, it is morning anyway. I am finally realizing that I am just not cut out for recovery weeks. This is my third or fourth attempt at one, and I am battling the blues again. I am having Cathe withdrawals. I am such an intense cardio junkie! I have not been sleeping well this week. After eating clean for 12 weeks, I went out with a friend Wednesday night and enjoyed my first restaurant meal of 2007. It was yummy. I ate a small bowl of cheesy potato soup and a corn bread muffin from Cotton Patch with a glass of sweet tea. The portion size was not over the top, but I still woke up with a food hangover yesterday morning. Ugh! Sodium is not my friend. I am sure the scale is not my friend either this week.

I have not been totally sedentary this week. I have been doing TLTs and old FIRM workouts. I did Better Burn Better Buns Sunday, the Hare Monday, and Cardio Burn Tuesday. I was planning to do Maximum Cardio Wednesday, but I woke up at 2:00 a.m. and took a nap during my workout time. After dinner with my friend Wednesday night, I was too tired to move. I did Jen Carman’s segments of Better Body and Buns yesterday morning and fast forwarded through the rest. I am enjoying these workouts for a refreshing change of pace, but I am missing my Cathe endorphin high!

I booked my flights for the Road Trip. I will be flying first class on miles, so I am excited. I am good to go. I just need to start training!

I am so glad it is Friday. After another restless night, I am looking forward to the weekend. Hopefully, I can enjoy some long naps and get my sleep schedule back on track. I am not sure if I want to start my Cathe rotation next week or wait until Easter. I have a full week ahead of me and may go to the club and jog in the pool instead. After sleeping 3-4 hours a night this week, I do not have enough energy for Cathe this morning or I would pull out Rhythmic Step just to shake these blues. I am hoping to have enough energy to get through Maximum Cardio later this morning. I am actually sleepy now, so I may take a nap instead.

Jean, I would love to meet you in June. Hopefully, you will have a few minutes between all the wedding festivities.

Hello everyone. Sunny here too. Holy Crappolla, I got a good WO in this AM. I did ME UB and then did abs and stretch from BM2. I have taken about a week and a half off from WO's. Just not mentally there. So, It felt WONDERFUL to pick up my dumbells. And the stretch at the end was amazing. I hope to squeeze in some yoga sometime today too. Depends on the kids. I hope to be sore tomorrow.
My hands were really hurting during the chest work, but I finished it out anyway.

Heather- have a great time on that RT!! Wish I was going!

Hi everyone.

No workout for me today(Friday). Just had too much to do. Spent several hours this evening finishing out the car deal. Glad that's finally over with. Now it's off to bed so I can get up early and get in a good workout in the morning.

Maeghan, nice to hear from you. Glad your workout felt good. Sometimes if I take off for too long, I start to dread the thought of starting back again.

Heather, hope you get some rest this weekend.

Wendy, did you say you were doing PX90 again? For the second time around, do you do the program the same way or do you change it?

Kim, I need to follow yor example and plan out my meals better.

Kali, how's everything going? The new job still working out for you?

Meg, I know what it's like to push through the mental "mud" that can get in the way of a work out. It's tough. Don't sweat the week off. It's good to take the break if you need it.

Jean, So what kind of car did you and DH end up buying?? No, I'm not starting the X all over again this quickly...I didn't finish round 1 yet anyway!:7 When I said I was "re-starting" the X I meant that I had taken a break due to a cold and was picking up where I had left off. I am at the end of week 11. Two more weeks to go. After I finish I am going to do a rotation using BBC...I get to do endurance lifting again...can't wait!!!! I'm tired from all of this heavy lifting stuff!:p :7

Well, I cheated on yesterday's workout! LOL I wasn't feelin' a work out and DEFINATELY wasn't feeling L&B for some reason sooooo I grabbed Cathe's HSTA and the pull up torture from legs and back and combined them into this:

Wide Front Pull Ups
Leg Press round 3
Hover Squats round 1
Close Grip Overhand Pull Ups
Leg Press (2 sets) round 4

L&B calf raises

It wasn't as tough or as thorough as L&B, BBC or one of the many Cathe lower body work outs but it will suffice! I ofcourse did ARX and grunted all the way through it! LOL

Today will be a TM run at the gym. I got another free Itread from a coupon code posted in the open forum.}( It's set 9/40 mins. I can't wait to try it!:+

Wendy, I used the coupon codes and got set 6 outdoor 60 min and Set 4/60. I figured if it's free I might as well get the longer ones. I went outside this morning to try the set 6, but messed up and hit shuffle songs on my ipod so when it went to the second half it actually went to set 4 2nd half. I couldn't figure out why Grace stated talking about TM settings until I was half way home and looked down at my Ipod and saw set 4 playing. I'm going to blame it on lack of oxygen to the brain due to the workout. Not sure what excuse I'll use for my ditziness when I'm not working out. LOL

As for cars, we selected the Nissan Altima Sedan. It sucks having a car payment again. Dh's truck was paid off several years ago, so we're going to have to cut back on things for a while. Hopefully Cathe won't be posting a pre-sale too soon. Although, I will find a way to come up with the money if she does.
