Hi all ~
This morning while doing a side plank (modified on my elbow) during a Pilates class, my shoulder "seemingly" came out of socket and went back into place. I was pretty shocked but relieved it seemed to have gone back in place. (I was teaching the class, so I eased off that side for the rest of class).
While I've got pretty strong shoulders, I think the combination of my weights class yesterday and this Pilates class this morning was too much shoulder work for my body. I've never dislocated my shoulder before, yet I hear it's very painful.
My shoulder is definitely sore, but it's not swollen or too painful. I'm just taking it easy, making sure not too use it. While I'll watch for more pain and/or swelling, I wonder if anyone has had this experience and if you've let it rest and taken care of it on your own.
I've been doing some Googling, and it might be that I tore some tendons or ligaments....that might be the case b/c I can lift my arm overhead, however there is tiny pain at the top.
Obviously, I'm not dying here, and I'm the queen of preaching "listening to your body" (ha!), but just wondering about personal experience.
Thanks,
Caroline
