Short workout idea...

OK - so this isn't brain surgery, but this just occurred to me......I know that the DVD owners can shorten up workouts and mix and match things to make tons of different workouts. So, I got to thinking - I have approx. 30 minutes in the morning where I could workout. I was getting a little tired of CTX vids all the time and got to thinking that I could do ANY cardio tape and just stop and the spots where Cathe takes heart rate checks. In Step Blast - for example - I could just do the first segment and then stop and get ready for work.

OK - I KNOW you are all wondering if I'm blonde (and I am :7 LOL) But, as plain and simple as this is it's true. I just couldn't seem to get past the idea that when I put in a vid I need to do the WHOLE thing and not cut any of it out. If I do I feel that I'm cheating myself. OK - I must be tired after Step Blast tonight because I'm just ramblin' on and on and on...... :)

I'm really not an airhead - it's so simple that it just wasn't obvious to me I guess.

Have a good night everybody. Marcia. :)

Marcia,
I'm laughing with you on this! You're right! If you are doing VHS you can just do the first one or two sections of a step tape or first part of a strength - there's still many options for you, they just aren't as conveniently available as they are on DVD!:7 :7 :7

Thank you, Jo and Shari, I'm glad that I don't stand alone on this 'miraculous' thought for the day. LOL :7 :7 :7

I just never really thought about it before since it's hard to mix things around with VHS's. :)

Have a great day! Marcia.

That's a great idea. And if you want to make it tougher, then you do section 2 and 3 instead of 1 & 2. I found that if I run out of time, I usually can't fininsh step section 3 which is usually one of the hardest. Often 1 is a kind of warm-up, simpler moves section, so 2 and 3 really get you the most out of that 20-30 min.

Great idea!

p.s. I'm blond (well sort of) and proud of it! hehe

Hi Marcia,

I used to be the same way, so it's not silly at all. I did not get the idea to do cardios other than CTX, until I started following some of Cathe's rotations earlier this year. Now, I often do half of either of the IMAX workouts, and usually don't feel guilty for stopping. I know what you mean about feeling like you have to do an entire step video. I often say "oh, my favorite move is coming up in the next section", or want to hang in there to put the whole combination together like the Rhythmic Step Challenge.

I guess half of IMAX 1 or 2 is a little more than 30 minutes. Another good one is the pre-mix of Bootcamp cardio and legs only and only the floor section of Maximum Intensity Cardio. See, keep thinking and more ideas will come!

Good luck, Sandra

P.S. I am blonde, too! Ha! Ha!
