Short on time, which Cathe dvds are the most effective?

Suggestions please.

I'm very busy and it seems like I'm always on the run. Which Cathe workouts give you the most bang for the amount of time invested in the workout. I generally like strength/core workouts and tend to stay away from step and hilo.

Thanks!

That's a tough one as Cathe has alot of step and some Hi/lo. You might like maybe some of the kickboxing. KPC/L&G DVD has alot of premixes for time crunching. Cardio Kicks is just kickboxing and so is Kickmax. Myabe some others will chime in...:)...Carole

CTX seems to be popluar among the time crunched. and the body blast series and use of their premixes, like on supersets and push pull. they are relatively shorter workouts. and core max is good 6 total workout(including the premixes) about 20-24 mins.

CTX!!! Gives you a complete total body workout in 6 workouts in less than an hour a day (including upper and lower body). And the Cardio is tough. You seriously get a great workout each day, and as I said it's under an hour. If you need to break it up, the DVD's are chapters so you can easily do it. Well worth the time and money.

RE: Short on time, which Cathe dvds are the most effect...

Welllll......CTX is great but it has a lot of step and hi/lo in it which she doesn't like. I'd recommend Boot Camp or High Step Challenge. You can shorten them up if you need to. But they give you a cardio workout despite being mostly strength and core work. Like sneaking in that yucky cardio. People have had great results doing Boot Camp 3 times a week as their only workout.

I'd still say CTX... I'm not crazy about pure step either but there is so much variation on this.

I did 4 weeks on it and NEVER got boared and got great results.

HELLO! I LOVE STEP PUMP AND JUMP BECAUSE OF THE MUSIC AND IT'S FUN TO ME. IT HAS A LITTLE BIT OF STEP AND HI LO. I LIKE CIRCIUT MAX ALSO. NOW I AM STARTING BACH THE SLOW AND HEAVY SERIES BECAUSE THIS SUMMER WHEN I HAD HIT A PLATUE IT REALLY HELPED ME TRIM DOWN.

Consider both the pyramids, PUB and PLB, also Leaner Legs from the CTX series which is a fab lower body workout famed for being tough, quick and dirty. Also, think of Supersets and Push/Pull, on the same DVD, which work the entire body and include many premixes that allow you to do more if you have the time.

For cardio and total body workouts, Bootcamp is another great option. You can also get Kickmax and KPC, and use the premixes to do as much as you have time for. Both of these are tough and will give you a run for your money in both strength, muscles worked in kicks and jabs, and cardio, in high intensity cardio blasts and very creative kickbox sequences. KPC has a creative and tough core segment at the end which will challenge you. You could also get cathe's new Core Max and do one segment of that a day as a tag on to whatever other training you have tiem for.

The Timesaver DVD from the Body Blast series is a 6 day workout rotation in of itself, including cardio and strength for under an hour's duration.

The uppper-body-only and lower-body-only premixes on MM are time efficient and effective.

If you have an hour to workout on some days, then a weight/cardio combo workout is a good choice, because you get both in the same workout.

S/S and P/P are arranged in a way that would theoretically give you more "bang for the buck" (very little rest between exercises, but exercises go from one body part to another rather than doing set after set of the same body part until moving on. I find this a more time-efficient, and effective way of working out (because each body part gets a rest while other body parts are working). There are numerous premixes for upper body only and lower body only, for example.

It's early in the morning and I'm a little slow. I'm trying to figure out the abbreviations.

MM = Muscle Max?
S/S = ?
P/P = Push Pull?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

Yes, MM is Muscle max, SS is Supersets which is on the same DVD as PP which is Push Pull.

Start purchasing!

YA KNOW WHAT I AM SORRY FOR MY POST. I THOUGHT YOU DID NOT LIKE BUT STEP BUT WOULD A DO LITTLE TO MIX IN CARDIO AND WEIGHTS. THAT WHY I PUT MY 2 CENTS IN

Got a few suggestions, all no step but cardio and muscle work.:

Kick Punch Crunch - short on time just do the warm up and first section cardio, (skip the three drills), plus the abs: total workout about 45 minutes

Boot Camp - do warmup, then cardio section twice (a killer but great!)plus abs - 35 minutes

Boot Camp - can also do warm up, cardio + upper body only or + lower body only: 35 minutes or so. Add ab work if time fr an extra tem minutes.

Cardio Kicks - just do first 30 -40 minutes, whatever you have time for. Easier than Kick Punch Crunch but a good workout

Muscle Endurance Shorter workout (in pre mixes) - about 50 minutes

Maximum Intensity Strength - upper body only 35 minutes; lower body only 20 minutes (as ad ons or on their own)

Muscle Endurance upper body only or lower body only about 20-25 minutes each

Power Hour: upper body only or lower body only - about 20 minutes each

Also would suggest Tae Bo Advanced Live series fi you can get any of those 12 workouts. They are about 55 minutes each but you can do for as long as you have time for.

Like yoga? Baron Baptiste makes some good 30 minute yoga tapes.

Hope that helps.

In addition to the wonderful suggestions above, I love the entire Stepblast series.

There are so many pre-mix options and you do have the workout blenders.

Isn't Cathe's December rotation all about quick workouts?
