Shopping at Cache...

wake up eager

Cathlete
My husband was golfing yesterday - with the free time (after I completed the Imax 2 Challenge) I went to the mall - I don't go there much. Since I had free time with nothing that I HAD to do I decided to look for a Christmas outfit for an annual christmas party we attend - this particular party is very fun and is full of happy, attractive, svelte people...

I've gone to this party in the past and lately, have not felt as good as I would've liked to have felt. Over the past years I had begun to lose my 'mojo' - I was not feeling hip or attractive...maybe moving into 'frumpdom' a little bit. It was really bugging me that I was feeling sort of middle-aged. I really want to feel as good as I can feel, no matter where I am or what I'm doing, no matter my age.

Getting back to a regular fitness routine this year, hanging out with the good people ont his forum, reading fitness mags and eating clean - has helped me get some of my mojo back...feeling better and I wanted to find a style that refects that...

As I walked about the Mall I just couldn't find anything that interested me...it was either too trendy or too matronly or too showy or too...

I wanted something up-to-date, but not too trendy and or too young; classic, but not boring or matronly looking...

I wanted something that I could be excited about wearing, something that I felt attractive, smart, hip and lean in...

I was about to leave the mall with no purchases when I stepped into Cache. I'd been there years ago, but now in my "I am feeling better" mode - I loved it. Have you been there? Had to share what i bought...

The black satin pants with the cream blouse is for the party.
The gold shirt with the black pants with the wide buckle - is wonderful feeling, and could also be worn to special occasions.
The brown jacket and pants fit perfect - I also bought a blouse that goes with it but didn't see it on the website - feels very chic, for business meetings.
Very cool.

I know that clothes are just the outer thing - but when you're feeling good on the inside, it sure is extra nice to feel nice on the outside. (I wonder if I'm the only one who watches What Not To Wear - and gets teary-eyed when the person feels so empowered and invincible after the makeup).

Cache - my new fav. store...now, I can't wait for the Christmas Party!!
Anyone else here shop there??

(It feels good to be able to share this here...the women currently in my life are either business clients or too busy or wouldn't understand or might not be happy, 'cause they're in general not all that upbeat...so hope you don;t mind me sharing here...) THANKS!

I really like Cache but it is expensive. I like the fit of the clothes too. You should sign up for coupons (they send a lot of them). I only buy with a coupon. The best one is when they give you 50% off one item :D.

Cache

Hi Eager!

Those are some beautiful clothes and I know you'll love wearing them. I am right there with you feeling middle aged and wanting to feel attractive with a classic updated new look!

Thanks for sharing,

I love Cache too! I get their coupons and try not to buy anything unless I can get a deal.

They have fabulous formal wear. I've purchased some great dresses from there. Oh, and my absolute favorite leather jacket came from Cache as well.

Your purchases are gorgeous!

Some of my "special" clothes were purchased at Cache. I like their merchandise.... modern, but not overly trendy. I have a "Cache Accents" membership, which entitles me to receive 5% off the retail price, PLUS any discounts. Enjoy wearing your new clothes!! :D

Anette-

I just checked the Cache web site. They do have size zero in skirts.

Cache has been a favorite store if mine for several years.

I found two stores in Manhattan, but it looks like there are no petites. If you wear a size zero like A-jock, the length can work, but I'm more like a size 2 or 4, which means the clothes will probably not fit me well. And tailoring these days cost as much as the clothes! :(

Does Cache have size zero in a skirt?

A-Jock

Yep, they have size zero in skirts, jeans, pants, etc. They run a bit smaller than say the size zero at White House Black Market though. I sometimes wear a size two in Cache pants (always zero in their skirt), but I wear a zero in both at WHBM.

I checked this on Snopes and got more info. Cache doesn't appear to be closing all their stores. Here's the link: http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/storeclosings.asp

Who mentioned Cache?

OMG, that along with Georgiou is my favorite place to shop. Due to my recent financial crunch, I've had to stay away from Cache. I cringe everytime I get the coupons, telling myself not to put another charge on my card. I'm trying to develop a motto, if I can't pay cash, I don't buy.

;) Thank you for this information. I never think to check Snopes myself. Duh me!

Hey.... I hear you! I do the same. I hold on to the coupons... they expire.... I receive more. I've been staying away from the mall. I spend all my $$ at the craft store instead!!!

Just an FYI, I'm not sure about all the stores on this list, but Talbots is NOT closing all their stores. They announced back in January that they were closing all of their Men's and Children's stores and some of their underperforming Women's stores. Also, Talbots owns J. Jill and is in the process of selling that brand. Whether the J.Jill stores will remain open depends on the who buys the chain. HTH!
