Today, the only workout I got in was a 30 minute walk after dinner and DH had to practically make me go. I was so unmotivated. But, tomorrow will be a 4 miles run followed on Wednesday with yoga or weights.

I'm training for a 10k on Thanksgiving day with DH.

I'm still excited, I just had a set back today. No worries I'm sure.
 
You can't go full speed everyday. Today was a good active rest day. A lighter day today will mean you can run even faster tomorrow.

Thanks Kimberly. You're absolutely right. That's why it's recommended to have a few light days before a long run.

PS. your cats are so adorable.
 
OMG! that was the worse run ever! I did treadmill today. Was supposed to run 4 miles. I always walk a few minutes to warm up and then start running. When I started tunning, my shins started screaming. I couldn't believe it. That never happened before. I walked/ ran / and stretched for the first 2 miles. It took me 34 min for the first two miles! I could not believe this was happening. But, I will say I never thought about quitting because if this had of been Tday, No hurting shins would make me stop. Oh, yes, I am definitely finishing my first race - pain, hunger, whatever. So, I did what I had to do to make it through all of it. 61.15 finish time. Oh, yikes, it can only get better right?

Well, another thing is my weight is up and I definitely did not eat well yesterday. Today, I will make a food plan of protein, carbs and fats that I will use daily. I'll just plug in different foods to make up that plan. Did that make sense? Well, it did to me.

Not sure if I'm doing yoga or weights tomorrow. Decisions, decisions.

Just want to cheer you on for your Thanksgiving race, not to worry, the days go good, bad, & sometimes worse, overall sticking to the plan you'll reach your goal. Just recently had to find out why my hamstrings were getting so tight, that used to happen last year when I started stepping, most recently with a lot of kickboxing, only to find when I was walking, it's my normal gait that has to change. Years ago it must have changed, with a couple knee surgeries, I think it has effected my balance, it's like learning how to walk all over again, but better. Relax too, you'll find the pace.

Long story short, keep working through those changes, like Cathe says listen to your bod....keep going! and that other one she says I particularly like "if you're not doin' this, do something!" Veggie tip...baked sweet potato, quick & easy to make, breakfast lunch or dinner

thanks for the pep talk, Linda. I'm so glad I persevered and finished the run no matter what the time was. All that stopping and starting was like interval training. hahahahaha

I went out and bought some new running kicks. Saucony Excursion TR5. They feel great and even better after I got new socks and gel inserts. I learned alot from the salesman who kept trying to impress me with his 13-14 years of experience in working with professional footballers and soccer teams. blahblahblah. His advise seemed right off the pages of my running mag. hahahahahahaha I had to bite my lip quite a few times. hahahahaha My feet feel better just walking around the house in them.

Anyway, I've decided to do weights tomorrow and a 4.5 on Thursday.
 
Happy Wednesday. Today's workout was the Firm/s SuperCharged Sculpting. I only had a little time, but I had to get weights in. i really went heavy and my biceps are talking to me right now.

I can't wait to try out my new Saucony's with gel inserts tomorrow...
 
Today, i did not get my 4.5 miles in like I'd plan. I just ran out of time. I will have to reconsider doing the treadmill in the am. I did get in 3 miles and knocked 2 min off my last time. My new record for 1mile is 14:33 at 4.4 on treadmill. I did enjoy my new shoes, and my shins only hurt a little . I know it'll only get better. My next run is set for saturday. 4.5 outside at no specific pace.

Today's workout was Power Yoga with Rodney Lee. If I ever want to feel out of shape, Rodney will help me do it. Next yoga day, I will try another one. I was a true woose with this one.

My weight is still up. Man. I've got to do something different.

tomorrows a run day, whoo hoo, outside, no pressures of time. Just run til I drop.
 
Today, I didn't do my 4.5 mile run. I did a 5.4 mile run/walk in 68 min. That avereages out to 12:59 min mile. My personal best by far. Thursday, I averaged 14:55.

The thing is I couldn't get my groove on today. I struggled so much. but I ran/walked in rough weather today. It was cold (45), I had on 2.5 layers of clothing and it was windy. So taking all that into consideration, I did very well.
 
yesterdays workout was 30/30. Today I did heavy upper body and tomorrow i'm aiming for 4 miles on the treadmill after a good 5 min warmup.

Today's workout was running intervals on the TM. Hated it!, but got past 2.5 miles and then just ran at 4.7 - 5.7 to finish 3 mi (700 cb). Glad that's over.

Tomorrow should Muscle endurance. Waist is considerably tighter. yeah
 
Today's workout was Muscle Endurance. I really like the workout however I'm just beginning to understand the concept of different weighted workouts. My heartrate stayed up the whole time. I was so happy when it was time to work core. I'll try to do this one twice more before Tday.
 
No workout this morning cause I'm tired of rushing and not getting more than 3 miles done in the am.

I'll change my weekday am runs to just drills/intervals of 3 miles and save the longer runs for Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings or Tuesday afternoons and Saturday mornings. Wow. I feel so relieved that I"ve decided to change that. I hate rushing, and while I'm on the treadmill knowing I can't have a long run.


Also, I'll go back to wearing two pair of socks when working out. The shoes salesman told me to stop that, but I have been doing it all my adult life and now my feet feel stressed and achy while working out. He aint the boss of me. I'll do what I want. lol

More after my run this afternoon.
 
Boy, are my legs tired from that 3 miler last night. I did do 4DS KB. and may skip my long run tomorrow and do it on Sunday.

No workout today. We're in the playoffs and I got home at 1:45 am. needed to rest totally. Will do long run tomorrow on treadmill probably.
 
Man, no workout today again. I feel like a slug. Cycle's almost over. Yeah. I must push past the sluggies and get on tm in the am. Wish me luck.
 
No run today. I just couldn't do it. I was missing me some Cathe, so I did Step Moves. It was fun. Tomorrow I'll try a Firm dvd and shoot for a 4.5 miler on wednesday.
 
OMG, my weight is back to my alltime high of 192.5. My eating has been horrible and I know that's why my weight is way up. I'm so dissappointed, but at the same - I recognize a wake up call when I see one. I couple of days of good eating will have my weightloss plan back on track.

I only had time for a 30 min cardio, but am planning a good run tomorrow.
