(((((((SHELLEY)))))))

Yeah, I just read your <---- thread and whoa!!! I did not receive my checking statement last month, called the bank today, and found out it was sent a long time ago. Now, I don't know who has it, but they now have access to all my numbers!!! I might just be having an attack with you!!! Hopefully, the bank messed up and did not send my statement this month!!

Good luck to both of us!!!!!!

Sara

Awwwwww, thanks Lorie! I just got back from the bank and getting things sorted out, new card, etc. I still have to wait for them to "investigate" and hopefully get my money back. It makes me feel sick to know that someone is out there spending MY hard-earned cash!

I am so with you!!! I would be in panic/anxiety attack mode. Although, from what I hear, banks are pretty good about getting your money back.

Any idea how they accessed your card number and pin???

That is so scary!!!

(((((((hugs again)))))))

No idea. And the manager I talked to today said that they stockpile them, so they could have stolen it months ago and just got around to using it this weekend.

Nice. Hopefully they will get some kind of horrible disease and their ATM pressing fingers will fall off.

Hey, I missed that thread but I'm assuming you lost (or worse, someone stole) your wallet? What a disaster!

That said, I'd really like to see the culprit trying to use the ATM machine w/his "something else"...............}(

Hey Laura! No, someone managed to steal my debit card and PIN number information and took $800 out of my bank account on the weekend.

Okay, I may never be able to use an ATM again:p

OMG Shelley. I am so sorry that you are going through this. Hoepfully this won't affect your credit and you caught it in time. Make sure that whoever did this didn't take out any other cards or anything in your name. You don't know where they got your info. from. I hate to bring that stuff up but it happens. This is actually a big fear of mine. It is so sad that people are so horrible to do something like this. Hope things get better... you don't deserve that!

BTW, you did not deserve to get blasted over on the other thread!! You are one of the nicest and funniest people on these boards and you had valid points in your answer over there! I thought your statements were right on the money! And even if someone doesn't agree with something, why do they have to be so harsh? Aren't these OPEN forums? I just don't understand people sometimes... Anyway, sending you extra hugs {{{hugs}}} for that one!

Wow, that's terrible! Do you know who? I can't imagine how a stranger would be able to access that info.........I'm so sorry you had to go through this. Is your bank making good for you?

No idea. It was a stranger. At some point in probably the past three months, my card was swiped in a machine that had a reader in it and they used a camera to get my PIN number.

The bank is currently "investigating" and will then decide whether they'll give me the money back.

Hey Shelley,

I am so sorry this happened to you, what a total violation!
I was robbed standing at an ATM a few years back, I was trying to deposit money, and some guy pulled up in front of the grocery store, ran in, grabbed my envelope out of my hand and ran out. I had about 400 dollars, I was so shocked and stunned I could not think straight. I then started screaming for someone to call the police, and ran out of the store trying to chase the car-stupid move I know.
My bank, after hearing the story, reimbursed 200 dollars of the money-I had a good bank back then, even though they never caught the guy.You feel so violated and raw. It wasn't the same thing as someone stealing your card and all that, but it is stealing all the same. Pisses me off.
Oh, and I had a old roomie who stole my drivers liscence, got into a wreck she did not pay for using my liscence, and when I got pulled over for a speeding ticket after I moved out, was informed it was suspended due to this accident! Talk about crappy. It took me almost a year to straighten that mess out-so I totally understand how you feel and what you are going through. Hopefully your bank will do the right thing.
Take care and know that what comes around, goes around, and this person will sooner or later suffer for what they did, that is just the law of the Universe.

Tneah - that must have been SOOOO frightening to have someone rob you like that. I think I'd rather have this anonymous version than that.

I'm just really hoping that this isn't payback to ME for something I've done, following the whole "what goes around, comes around" thing:(

Shelley - that's terrible! Y'all are scaring me into never using my ATM card again. If I do, I'll be hunched over covering my fingers in case of a camera! (((HUGS)))

Nope, do not think like that. You are a good woman, a good mom and a good person. You do not steal. This thief will get his sooner or later.;-)
