Shelley, How did your....

Oh, Elaine, thanks for asking! I was going to post something about it today.

It was a fantastic experience. There were 5300 walkers. They did about 35 km on Saturday, and then 25 km on Sunday. Although it wasn't a race, on Saturday, she and the girl she was walking with were 323 and 324 out of 5300 through the "finish line". She wasn't sure of her placing yesterday, but figures she was somewhere in the 800 to 900 group.

They raised $17.2 million dollars over this weekend. Apparently that's some kind of world record. She was tired and sore last night, but euphoric!

Shelley - I wanted to tell you that I have been getting some wonderful emails from the walk, and was really impressed with the way they kept even small donors like me completely informed of the event. Glad to hear it went well for your sis! I thank her for walking for the rest of us!

Christine - it's definitely a superbly organized event. Her enthusiasm kinda made me want to do it next year, but I'm scared of not being able to raise $2000 required to participate.

Shelley, please congratulate your sister for me. Her accomplishment is fantastic!! I, too, have been getting emails about the run and I'm awed by the huge success of their fund raising efforts.

Shelley, you can count on me for a donation if you want to participate next year.:)

Shelley, A few years ago I participated in a TNT fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The pledge was $2100 and I was able to collect almost all of it from friends, family and neighbors. It was the most daunting aspect of the experience but it was doable. I'm sure you could count on the support of many, many Catheites if you decide to participate next year!

Shelly, give your sis a ^5 for me too!! She did fatasitic!!!

Laugh and the world laughs with you. Cry and you cry with your girlfriends.
