No wonder she's picking on you!! You're beautiful and fit and she's not. ... I apologize if that comes off as being snotty and shallow but I suspect this may be the root cause of a lot of her cattiness.

I can't believe I'm posting this in defense of the MIL, but in defense of women everywhere, I don't think you can actually say that she isn't fit or good-looking from such an awful picture. As a person, I really don't like this lady, but the idea of attacking her attractiveness seems like it's going too far. I'm sorry. I just had to say that. Commence flaming. ;-)

I love that you posted her picture! If more nasty MIL's knew their DIL might post their picture, they might think twice.

Confronting her is an option, but IMO it seldom works. Most evil MIL's have been that way for years and will never change.

I agree that she's jealous. You look wonderful, and that must drive her nuts. (I'm not ripping on her looks; she looks fine, but you look better.)

Note to all nasty MIL's - don't mess with your son's wife. The internet has expanded our options.

You're right. I didn't really consider the "awful picture" point of view. (We've all taken our share of those!). I apologize for the unkind remark.
