Sharp pain in my butt - Help

I am in 2nd round of STS. In my first round, I got this severe pain in place where my inner thigh connected to my bud. It's not continuency pain. It's stop and go. Even when I sat, sometimes the sharp pain would almost made me had to stand up. I could still run. I did not feel discomfort while I was running in TM. I am running around 7.5 - 8.5 mph. It started when I did paper plate move. I tried to stretch. Actually, move around, it seemed reduce the pain. By Meso 3, the synptom getting better though I still could feel the tightness in that area.

However, when I started my new round of STS, I got this severe pain again when I did paper plate move. This time it was in my outside of my left butt. Last time it was also left butt but different area. Does anyone experience the similar pain? Is it possible that I had some stress fracture? Do I need to see doctor? If so, what kind of doctor do I need to see?

Thanks

I'd love to see any answers here. As my checkin buddies tell me, I, too, have a "broken butt", and it's also on the left side. I've had pain on and off since before STS. I finished meso 3 a few weeks ago, and it's actually worse now (I've been running more consistently). I'm trying to lay off of it for a while, stretch a lot, and use a foam roller as much as I can stand (it's very boring to me).

good luck!

Thanks, Beth. I, too, hope to get more answers here.

How did you do the roller? I felt it was hard to get into the right spot. And it is hard to pin point the spot actually. But the sharp pain it is like a shot. Then it's gone. On and off. Now I pay more attention to my left leg move. I found if I used much of my hamstring, and put all weight in my left leg, it could trigger it. Also, I couldnot kick too high like I used to do when I did kickboxing. I felt a very strong pull. I just hope I did not break anything.

I can still run. But the pain is always there. It's kind of bummer.

The roller seems to help, and I remember when I originally asked about pain in that area, a couple of people told me it may actually be the IT band that is the problem, so I generally sit on the roller and roll for a while (and I do feel a definite crunchy in the painful area), but I also lay on my side and roll the IT band, too, and that seems to help.

Fwiw, I thought I had a hamstring problem, and now I'm thinking it's more of a glue problem, because hamstring curls don't bother it, but lunges and squats do. I think running aggravated mine (can't remember if I already said that).

It could be periformis syndrome. There are bunch of stretches you can do, just google it and you will come accross many sites

Thank you all for your feed back.

Yes, for me it was more deep glut area. Before it was like inner thigh connected with butt. This time, it was outside and in the middle of my left butt. But it is very hard to pin point it. For me, running is not making it bad. But when I did one leg weighted move, such as paper plate, no matter which direction, it would aggrevate my pain.

I tried the roller. I can feel it for the T band roll. But for my butt cheek, I had to hard time to find it rolled in the right place.

I will try to google it for periformis syndrome.
