Sharing Cool Websites

Hi All!

Just wanted to share a couple of cool websites I have started using.

www.paperbackswap.com: this is just an online free book swap, but very well organized and user friendly. Basically you post nine books (or more) and for that, get three credits. You get additional credits any time someone requests one of your books. Then, you use those credits to "buy" books that you want. Each book costs one credit. They also do hardbacks and audio books. I joined two days ago and have already sent off 4 books. The only thing you pay for is postage (usually a couple of bucks) for the books you send.

www.freecycle.org: what you do here is go to the site and register for the freecycle community in your area. Then, you can post for things you might want, say, a bookshelf or a sewing machine or even passes to a local event. Anyone who can provide that posts back and lets you know the details of where, what and how you can pick up the item. You also receive emails from others asking for things. It's 100 percent free and even trading/swapping is not allowed. I've had great luck on this and was even able to get rid of a washing machine taking up space in my shed.

What I really like about both of these is that they are a form of recycling and reusing of those things that are already in existence.

Any one else have some fun/interesting sites to share?

Visit the Hunger Site and click daily so that advertisers donate money to provide food for the hungry (at the top of the page, there are also tabs for the Animal Rescue Site, Child Literacy site, Child Health site, Rainforest Network and one other, that are also 'click daily to donate for free" sites. (the store also has some cool stuff, and a part of the proceeds from sales goes to the various organizations).
