Severe T-Storms, Tornados in IL, IN, MI,

JT

Cathlete
Hello Catheites.

We just been through a second severe T-storm today, the last one was late last night, and another one expected on Monday.

If you're in the path of this nasty weather, please let us know if you're OK and damage.

About one hour ago, it sounded like a train was heading full blast down my street but no apparent damage here. In Holland, US-31 is shut down cause the road might wash away to due erosion of soil.

Wow Jennifer. We're in Ludington, not too far from you. I didn't know the storms were so bad in GR! We have had some rain with just a little bit of thunder on and off. The past few days it keeps acting like its about to get bad, but so far nothing serious. I hope this crazy weather stops soon. Please be safe!

Another MI girl here!

I'm near Lansing and our little town got TRASHED Saturday night.

Thankfully we had no damage other than some limbs down but all of over town whole trees are down. On our way to church this AM there were so many people just standing outside looking at their poor lawns and houses.

OMG! I was in the middle of it! On my way home from an unneccesary Target run with an almost empty tank (my dad will kill me if he ever finds out!) He calls to ask if I'm in the basement with the kids cause the sirens are going off in Sterling Heights,(Detroit suburb)-we're in Chesterfield, about 25 minutes away. I go into complete panic mode. I'm deathly afraid of tornadoes. Try to head to my aunt's nearby-no one home. It was a nightmare. I made my husband stay on the phone with me as I drove on fumes in a torrential downpour til I got to a gas station, filled up and headed home. My dd was at a birthday party and a big oak tree fell on the house across the street from them! Our neighbor's had some patio furniture destroyed and there were tree limbs, kids' playhouses, etc., all over the place.

It was the scariest thing I've ever witnessed! I hope everyone is safe in their homes with their families close by.

I live in Detroit. I went to 7:30 am church service, then grocery shopping. Therfore, during the storm (around 5:30-6:30pm) I was napping. When I went outside, there were tree branches and leaves everywhere!!!! What did I sleep through. I heard on the news that it hit other parts of the state pretty hard. I also heard some are w/o power. It was pretty rough last night also. I am doing well, I pray others are doing well also.

In our area some lost power Friday night with the first storm and they are saying it's not coming back til TUESDAY! I'm so thankful we have our power. If we ever lost it DH had a disconnect installed and a generator. Yeah, I make fun of him but I am thankful he plans for this kind thing.

I live in California now, but I went to school in NW Ohio. I'm thinking of all of you and sending you good, clear weather vibes! Keep us informed! Tornados scare me, too!

More bad weather coming tonight and tomorrow. Just heard a bunch of sirens earlier tonight.

Bad weather heading here tomorrow too. We've had our fair share of t-storms lately, thankfully no tornadoes!! (I'm in IL)

Stay safe everyone!

Please stay safe everyone, and no unnecessary actions. Prayers your way. Please continue with the updates.

The idea is to die young as late as possible.

NW Ohio girl here...

Thankfully our weekend was ok, but we spent some time Fri. night in our crawl space (which, incidentally, is nasty and where our boogie man lives!) I'm such a weather nerd - I had the Weather Channel on AND my weather radio. Kids had gone on a bike ride. The storm came up so quickly that DH had to go fetch the kids. Sirens were going off and two tornadoes were sighted in our county. Scary stuff!

I'm respectful enough of the weather that I don't fool around - if those sirens go off, it's down to the crawl space we go with the dog! DH said perhaps we should "fix the place up" down there if we're going to be spending so much time down there this summer, lol. DS mentioned a flat screen tv...so we tried to create some levity while we were feeling like pissing our pants!

The kids and I are actually trained severe weather spotters - so technically we should've been those out there looking for funnel clouds instead of being hunkered down, I guess!

Also ironic is the fact that I'd like to go with an official tornado chaser someday and see one. I'm truly fascinated and in awe of them. Call me weird...;)

I had no idea it was so bad downstate! I used to live in Macomb Twp, I'm now in the U.P. I'll have to be making some phone calls today.

Hope that everyone affected is able to get their lives back on track quickly.
