severe pain

I tried Kickbox yesterday for the first time and did the weights at the end of it, and I hurt in places I never thought could hurt and never thought of having muscles. Took a major pain pill to take the edge off the pain, I don't think I can get in a workout this morning. Has anyone hurt this bad after trying a new workout?
 
Leslie when I first did Cathe's kickboxing, the next day my lats were so sore but now when I do it, it is ok because i do it all the time.
 
When I see the term "severe pain" rather than "soreness," I immediately think "go to the doctor"! LOL!
I hope what you're experiencing is just some intense DOMS (I've had it after doing PUB biceps for the first time), and not joint "pain" or the pain of something vital being ripped or damaged!
 
it is pretty bad pain, I did weights for the chest and I didn't know I can hurt there LOL if I get a bigger chest out of this then I will take the pain LOL I think it is more stiffness the torn muscles or that. I have never done that kind of weights before, I loved the kickbox I had a blast doing that!! Ibuprophin (800 mg) is working like a charm and was able to go and clean my house. I will be better tomorrow I have done this before.
 
I do Kickboxing.....either Cathe or Powerstrike..atleast once per week and it always kicks my butt if I give it my all and really concentrate on form. Especially Powerstrike. The day after I did that the first time I could barely move. I still get so uncomfortably sore from it at times that the next day unexpectedly becomes my rest day!!! Hope your DOMS end soon!! It is a real sign you were doing something right!

How is the pain? Try to do some stretching and just let your body rest and recover. If it is really intense or worse than yesterday you may want to call the doctor for an appointment. If it was your first time at kickboxing, I can understand the soreness.

The pain is so much better, I was able to get in some cardio step this morning and feel pretty good. just a little sore in the back but I think that was from the weight for the chest. I was able to sleep so good I loved it. I am going to take it easy on the weights for the chest though, I just did the biceps workout and took it pretty easy as not to make it worse.
But I got me a stability ball and I must say I look so funny doing it, have to get that on video and send it in to Americas funniest home videos, because I must be a site to see, I don't know how you do it but I can't get the ball to stay put LOL.
