seriously, do people really not like kickmax?

I don't have the DVD, but I have now done the blast challenge and the leg conditioning drills which both rock. So what's the rest of the DVD? I know people said it wasn't as good as KPC, but those parts definitely have me intrigued. Talk to me people :)

I think it was the combo's from what i remember from other threads. Also, I think a lot have mentioned that their heart rate doesn't get up there. I found that to be true as well. I'll be 30 minutes into the work out and feel like nothing is happening. I've really come to like it now. By the end of the work out I'm sweating pretty good. I think, I still like KPC better though.

I think it was the combos too. People didn't think they were as good as the ones from KPC. But I do the Bootcamp Challenge premix, which puts the blast first, followed by the three more difficult combos and my heart rate stays up there. I like it a lot.:)

I like Kickmax but I don't think it is anywhere near as good as KPC. It is more of a cardio workout than a kickboxing workout. In KPC you do a lot of kicking and punching; in KM, you do a lot of blasts taht involve jumping jacks and pivots, etc.

I personally think the combos are interesting.... there just isn't enough time spent on them, or on kicking or punching, IMO.

Just my .02.

so if I have the blasts challenge & the conditioning drills, is that some of the good stuff? It doesn't seem like I should get this one then if others are waiting for me to purchase. I do love my KPC though. Woo woo :)

I did KM this morning, and the first part is not that intense, but it sure gets you with the blast challenge, I think is a good workout, it is different than KPC but I like variety, but KPC is still my favorite.

KPC is by far my favorite - I love the drills and the cardio section. I usually just do the Kickmax blast session and than lift upper body - that seems to really be a good workout.

I am not as fond of the drills bc they don't get my heart rate up there enough - I usually put as much into it as I can, but it just doesn't get my heart going as much as KPC drills do. HOwever, I am going to try and put the Blast Challenge first and then do the drills - the blast is nice bc its short and sweet but you work hard!

that is my two cents......

I love Kick Max and love KPC (Kickbox and Cardio Kicks as well)! I can honestly say there are very few workouts, if any(!!), Cathe puts out that I don't love! :)

I like Kickmax too! I have not tried the premixes yet, I do it as it is and sometimes I add the leg blast segment to other workouts.

Kick Max as produced is valuable in my library of workouts. It can be very versitile broken up, and very useful as is. It is true that the combos in the first section are not very demanding, but they can be considered an extended warm up before the blast challenge. The progression is not unlike the Hi/Lo of MIC where the first combinations are intermediate and then the later part requires all out effort. Also the leg conditioning drills at the end are unique and useful to add variety to the way legs are worked.

I bought it months ago, did a few times and decided I didn't like it. I saw a thread recently about Kickmax revisited, and decided to try it again. That was two days ago, and I'm STILL SORE. The Bootcamp part is a killer}( It's going back in my workout rotation!

I am not fond of the blast challenge. It doesn't get along with my knees. BUT I like the rest of it. I use the leg conditioning drills as an add-on to or part of a mix-and-match with other leg workouts. If I want a shorter leg workout, I use the first four combos and the leg conditioning drills. To build intensity, I use the combos in KM then the combos in KPC.

Kick Max is not one of my favorites, but I do find my uses for it. I rarely do it as produced, but I do take it apart and add the pieces to other workouts. If I'm in the mood to do pure kickboxing, I never select this workout. However, if I want a hi/low or interval type workout with a kickbox flavor, I'll pull out Kickmax.

I definitely prefer KM to KPC. I think KPC is fun but it's not nearly enough of a cardio workout. KM totally kicks my butt. Love those blasts.

I love Kickmax. I like the way it is chaptered and the pre-mixes are great too. I love the blasts as add ons to other workouts.

I enjoy the kicking and punching combos and the leg drills are different.

It's a different workout for Cardio Kicks and Kick/punch/crunch so you don't feel like you are doing the same thing.

I like it a lot, but agree w/ the others that KPC is a lot more fun. I think Cathe puts some of the best kickboxing workouts. Kick max is alot better than most kickboxing videos in the market

Denise

Agree with you KPC is much more of a kick box workout and much more fun.

The blasts are just not great for my knees - definetely this is more of a cardio workout.
