Selection of B-lines bands you all have?

Hi All!

After doing S&H Chest & Back today for the first time (I'm loving this series so far!), I decided to tack on a little extra back work and try out my new B-lines bands. I ordered the "mens set" from BB, and at Kathryn's suggestion, got the door attachemnt from Sissel - what a GREAT combo!!!!! Just to try it out I did a few lat pull variations with the red band (30 lbs), and it felt pretty good, but not terribly challenging. I haven't tried out the green band yet, which is 40 lbs of resistance, so maybe that one will be the perfect fit for me.

Does anyone here have and use any of the larger bands? I'm dabbling with the idea of ordering the blue and black (45 & 50 lbs), but don't know if I'm nuts. :) Also, any tips on what has worked well for you with these bands? For lat/back work, do you attach the door attachment up high only, or can you also put it at the lower hinge and do rows that way?

I really think I'm going to like them, especially for back work - I LOVE lat pull downs at the gym, so I'm incredibly excited that I can simulate them at home now.

Thx!

I ordered the three heaviest ("men's"!) bands set right off the bat. I started with the green, but quickly moved to the next color (purple?) then to the black. Then I bough an extra heavy duty band from www.power-systems.com . It's marginally more resistance than the heaviest B-line band.

For lat pulldowns, I suggest going as heavy as you can, since that's a BIG muscle you're working.

I attach them at the top of the door and kneel down a couple of feet from the door. This most closely mimics the pull-up and lat-pull-downs. If you attach the band at the bottom of the door and pull outward, that more mimics lat rows.

Some say pulldowns work lat WIDTH better, and rows work lat THICKNESS better.

Awesome, thanks Kathryn. I should have apparently originally ordered the "Extreme" kit, rather than the "Men's" kit! You must have the extreme.

That's ok, I don't mind having the 20's and 30's - I am going to try incorporating these in instead of using the band in Cathe's workouts - the band does next to nothing for me.

Just ordered the Extreme kit, with my $25 savings for signing up with them! $16 total for a $35 kit is not too bad...

I've been using the heavy band (purple) from Sissel Online as well as the door attachment for P90X. I am seeing such improvement in my chest and back muscles from this. I'm actually amazed. I love them!

Hey there -

I had originally ordered the bands with the 'womens' set (pink, purple, red) - and am using the Red regulary. I just ordered the green band because I think I need more resistance for sure. I am thinking I might have wanted the whole extreme set - but will be glad to have the green band for now.

That is GREAT! What kind of moves do you incorporate for chest work? Or is this just a by-product of the pull down work you are doing with them?

I've got Gym Styles on my rotation for next week, and am really looking forward to using these bands rather than the flat band that I've used in the past (same as what Cathe & crew use).
