Secret weapon-I Found Mine!!!

I'm back on track after the holidays and I feel sooooo much better. 5-6 meals a day, tons of water and no junk.

I still battle the urge to eat sugar but I have found something new that is helping me tremendously.

I read about using color, music and scent to help prevent bingeing.
I got a cherry/vanilla lip balm from the Gap on Monday. Whenever I feel a craving i smell that thing. It has a pretty strong sweet smell to it. I don't know if it is just a placebo affect or real but the sweet smell fulfills my craving for me.

My nose never worked very well but the scent hits my nerves on just the right note. It gives me the sensory feedback I think my body is craving.

Call me crazy but I'mm willing to try anything to kick sugar cravings. Course you have to be brave enough to have people see you jamming a lip balm up your nose and sniffing it like it was cocaine!

Cheers!

I saw that at the Gap the other day. Just might give it a try. Thanks for letting us in on your secret!

That is funny! I burn these really cool soy candles and found they made one in a sort of chocolate smell. I told the lady "no thanks" because it might make me crave brownies....these things are the most amazing scents I have ever come across!!...anyway, she told me that another customer loved them during the holidays because all the smell of creme brulee', lemon pound cake, and hot apple pie curbed her sweet tooth. She did not feel like eating with all the scent going on of home baking!! It must work. Though I still did not go for the chocolate candle this time around;)
