Screaming Frog

I posted a comment regarding that video. I love my 5 cats and understand that they are natural predators. But I would never allow them to torment a creature in my presence. I've rescued all manner of mouse, squirrel, and bird as soon as I was aware my kids were causing the critters distress. For that matter, I routinely rescue insects, particularly spiders (I think they're beautiful and make interesting webs... to kill other bugs, I know...)

I spent a part of my childhood in the country and was remarking a while back that I miss frogs and turtles, because I rarely see them anymore out in nature. I felt for that poor little frog. He was just terrified.

Glad you posted it, though. Now I know that frogs scream. I really had no idea.

I thought I was the only one to save spiders..others think its so weird. Better to just scoop it up and put it outside, it's gross to me to squish them or any bugs.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who does this. I'm a schoolteacher, and my policy there is "catch and release" too.

I used to have an "insect cup" (a styrofoam one) in my office, to help catch and release bugs (my students--college age---sometimes freak out if a bee flies in the room, but I save them!)

I know! My 6'6" football-player son screams like a girl (but not a Cathlete, of course) any time he hears something buzz.

Oh, and I have a minnow net and an index card. :D
