Saturday TTC/Preg Check In

Cathlete
Good morning! I have the day off today (and tomorrow). I"m so excited. Our town is having Willie Walleye days, so lots of garage sales and things to do in town. I'm planning on beating my 14 year old cross country star in a 5K, then coming home and getting the other boys for activities. It'll be fun to spend some carefree time with my boys, I miss them so much!!!

I wasn't able to sleep past 6, so I thought I'd go ahead and work on bills, laundry, get my daiy poop in, you know things that are harder to do with wee-ones by your feet.

I started feeling a little heartburnie last night for the first time. Hopefully it doesn't last, but that's pretty typical for me. Other than fatique that kicks in early afternoon, I'm feeling really good.

I'm going to look at rocking recliners for Daddy's day. Would it be utterly selfish to get a matching on for mommy too? ;)

Melanie, Have a fun weekend and good luck beating DS!!!! Hope you stay feeling good today! A rocker(s!) sounds like a nice idea!

We have class 3 of hypnobirthing today. 2 more to go. I am finding it working so well for relaxation - hopefully it will be the same during contractions! Then I'm going to this annual scrapbooking garage sale (soooooo cheap!). Home for a little bit then off to my sister's boyfriend's open house. Busy day but all fun stuff!

I got another t-shirt in the mail - it's hot pink and says in light pink "tickeled pink". I love it!

Have a good one!

Hi everyone--

Melanie--I agree--have fun in the race! And I think a matching recliner for mom is definitely a good idea;-). Have a good time with your boys--do they know yet?

Kate--sounds like you have a fun day planned. I have a bunch of scrap-booking stuff, but I've only managed to make a few very small ones for a few family members (like the 5x7 size) and that was several years ago. I tell the kids that when they are all grown up and I have time, I'll go back and make them a scrap book--I think they are really neat.

Jen--My 5th son did not potty train fully until he was about 3 yrs and some months, which was later than all the other typically developing children we have. My method of potty training was born out of desperation and really unconventional and resulted in a child who did not want to wear clothing at home for about 6 months after that. I wouldn't recommend it unless you are truly desperate. I'll just say this. I think at some point social pressures kick in (stinking around other kids, seeing that everyone else uses the toilet, wanting to be "big")and they all do what they are supposed to in terms of the toilet eventually. Don't worry--he'll get there. It's just kind of gross for you in the mean time.

Morris--you've been on my mind--are you hanging in there okay?

Today, I plan to really deep clean our room and closets and encourage my dh to put up the porch swing his mother kindly bought for us. It's going to be nice having a day just to putter around the house. Oh and I have to replant the beans as the first batch was unsuccessful.
______

Hi everyone else! I'll probably check in again later, since this is a home day.

Howdy!

Have fun at the race today!! Sounds like a great day planned.

Kate~it also sounds like you have a fun day planned.

Maggie~ooh deep cleaning. That is a love/hate thing.. love getting it done, hate doing it. LOL Hope this batch of beans does better than the first.

Not much planned today. I am watching Army wives all day since they are doing a marathon of last season all day. Then the season 2 premier is tomorrow at 10pm. I can't wait!! I got up early this morning and I ran 4 miles.. managed to avoid the heat.. it's almost 100 now.. yuck! We'll probably go walk later if it cools off a bit by 7 or so. Here is my 20 week belly.. I am starting to pop!

Melanie - Good luck with your run!

Kate - You reminded me that I needed to go to Borders to pick up some hypnobirthing books/CD.

Maggie - I totally need to deep clean also. Probably when we put flooring in our kids' room.

Trish - Like the belly pic!

I did ME this morning and loved it. I love it the more I do it. I was really hooked on GS series for awhile and I think I just love the change. I'll go for a walk later this afternoon/evening when it cools down. Today is our library day so we'll be doing that then I have to get a baby shower gift. Hope the mall area is not crowded. I'm still battling this cold. So yucky. I think we're going to go see Kung Fu Panda tomorrow. Anyway, hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Lisa

Hi guys!
Melanie-Hope you had fun on your run and at the sales!

Kate - Hope class went well. Your shirt sounds SO cute!!

Maggie -Are you nesting already? I think I am a bit too. Clutter is really getting on my nerves lately. Have fun!

Trish - You look amazing! I looked like that at 12 weeks. Or, actually probably my pre-preg belly was very comparable. :) Way to go, girl!

Lisa-I love ME. I haven't done it since becoming pregnant. I can't wait to get back to it! Have fun at the movies tomorrow. DS is begging me to take him to see it. Let me know if it's good!

Well, while my kids were playing with their new water table outside this afternoon, I decided to give my dog a haircut. I found a pair of clippers I had bought awhile back. She looks pretty rough now. LOL, but at least she's more comfortable in this heat. DSs had their first swim class of the summer this a.m. It was my 3-year-old's first class ever. He did SO well too. I just really want them to learn how to swim well so we can go to the pool without me worrying constantly. We're going to the ballgame tonight x( . Hope everyone else has a good evening!!

Lisa~ I am still learning some of the abbreviations.. is GS = gym style? Sounds like you had a great workout. I just go MIS back from my neighbor and I might give that a try in the new few days. I can't remember what that one is like since I lent it to my neighbor over a year ago. then I got hooked on the pyramid upper and lower and I forgot I even had that one. LOL

Stephanie~how did the boys like swim class? I have though about lessons for my dd who is 3, but the pool is so far away and my in laws have a pool that we swim in so we never really go over to the big pool It's 30 min. drive. Have fun at the game! Who is playing?

Well, I got a double feat. Came in 2nd place for my age group AND beat my son! Ha Ha. I pushed myself a little harder than I should have at the end. Some lady (who I suspect was in my age group) was breathing really hard trying to get in front of me,...but I wouldn't let he. Then I felt like puking when I crossed the line (almost did). Then I was irritated that I pushed myself so hard. No bleeding, and I was anaerobic for just a short period of time. I probably shouldn't race anymore this season. :( Just too competitive.

DH is having trouble adjusting to our situation. I suspect he thinks I planned this, although I really didn't think I was ovlulating AND with a long hx of NOT becoming pg. It really makes it tougher to accept the situation myself when my partner isn't at all thrilled. Ahhhh, it'll happen. We still have a long time to turn around. ;)

Maggie, Hope the cleaning goes well. A porch swing sounds so nice!

trish, I love your belly! Sounds like you're able to realx a little today - good for you!

Lisa, I love ME too - easily modifiable for pg if I remember correctly. Nice weekend for you too!

Stephanie, Glad you're getting some mileage out of that table! What kind of dog do you have? We have a Great Dane - absolutley no fur maintenance - I love it that way! Have fun at the game!;) Glad it's not me that's going!

Melanie, Glad the race went well, but (in a mom tone) Be careful!! Sorry about DH - but you're right - things will turn around. Waht is he most concerned about?

OUr day has been busy but not over yet. Still have the open house to go to. I'm tired but just a little more to go! I think I'm skipping my workout today - just too tired.

Sounds like everyone is having a great weekend - good to hear!

Hi everyone! We have already had a busy morning the boys started Jiu-Jitsu today. They had a blast it looked a little rough to me but I'm not a boy. We had a lunch with my dad after and then went and looked at baby furniture.

Melanie, congrats on the race. Being too competive is exactly why I am not doing any races while pg and besides being this far along I would be slow.

Trish, you look great! It's hot here too. Yesterday at the zoo I could feel my feet and hands swelling:)

Jen, to answer your question from yesterday I have 3 sisters and my brother. We are all extremely close. Me and my older sister are pregnant together. She is 5 weeks ahead of me. Last pregnancy we were 10 weeks apart. She is having another boy again too. Aren't you having another boy?

Kate, sounds like you have a fun day planned.

Stephanie, good luck with the swimming lessons. I know exactly how you feel about just wanting them to be safe in the pool.

Maggie, it's not too late to talk your son out of the army;) When my brother gets home from Iraq he is either joining the FBI or CIA I was like could you just come home and work at McDonalds. Boys they love living on the edge.

Morris, I can't wait to hear about your new little man. I remember being so scared of having the second then it was a total breeze once he was here.

Hi Kristen and Lisa! I hope I didn't forget anybody .

Candra

Melanie I forget to mention my husband was totally against having a third baby. I had to beg and plead for this one. When I found out he told me congrats like he wasn't the dad. Well 20 weeks later he hasn't missed an ultrasound appt. even though I never even invited him to go. He rubs my belly every night and he is the one reading the baby name book. So everything will be fine it just takes men longer to adjust. Just give him his space and he will come around.

Candra

Melanie-Congrats on the run!!

Kate-We have a mixed breed that I rescued from a shelter a few months before DH and I got married (10 years ago). I call her a "schdoodleranian" because vets have told me she looks like she has schnauzer, poodle and pomeranian in her. :)

I have a question for you guys, I got quite sunburned today while clipping my dog outside. I had no idea that I would burn like that in so short of a time. I put Aloe gel on and feel better now and we're only going for half of the baseball game tonight. Do you think the baby is OK? I can't believe I did something so stupid, but I really thought I'd be OK in the backyard for an hour.

Candra, Jiu-jitsu sounds like fun!! That's nice you are close with your dad. I am not - yikes is all I have to say about that. I'm gald my girls have a great dad. My FIL is an awesome man and I've been dating DH since I was 15 so he's been a good dad for me.

Stephanie - I think you'll be okay with the burn, or rather the baby will be. Keep doing the aloe, maybe a nice bath would help. Use this for an excuse to get out of the game, woman!!!:)

hi everyone!

bussy day today, for everyone ithink!

melanie, i like your competitive streak. i am so not competitive, except with myself! i wouldn't worry too much about the run, as long as you will know in the future when you are close to too much. sorry about things with dh. i can certainly empathize. you both will be on the same page sooner than you think i bet.

steph, hope the sun burn heals soon!

kate, what a day you have had. get some rest and you will be raring to go tomorrow.

jen - how are you?

candra, jujitsu sounds neat. and your words about having 2 are quite comforting. i am a bit anxious.

trish, your belly pic is adorable. have fun with mis. i don't have that one.

lisa, glad you like me so much. i did that one so much last year, then put it away for a while. it is very complete, though, and i always get doms

maggie, great work cleaning. we are prtty much set up in our nest.

i am still on tap for tomorrow night. had a great workout today of imax 2 and hsc weights. also took ds for a walk. hope to spend lots of time outside tomorrow. we are supposed to check in at 6pm.

Trish, pictures don't show up on my end. :(

Just ordered up Daddy's day pair of recliners. Maybe that'll help ease up the mood. ;) DH will be 46 when #4 is born AND he is a stay-at-home Dad AND has had health issues the last few years, so he's reluctantcy is understood. However, we are not getting older....so if it didn't happen soon it just wasn't going to. I suggested a vacetomy (in the heat of our argument) if he really doesn't want anymore. :D :D

Anyway, I know we will get used to the idea by the time Jan rolls around (due date month). A good friend of mine just have me 4 tote-fulls of maternity clothes. All Motherhood & super stylish. :D :D Gotta like that!

Morris, I'm so excited for you! THat induction is going to bring you your healthy baby boy!

Melanie, That vasectomy ought to change his tune! LOL! Niiiiiice on the clothes! That is great! Somehow I'm always the one giving things away but no one ever does it for us!x(

Speaking of which.... I want my crib back!!! I know we'll get it in time I just want to see what kind of condition it's in. I didn't think we'd ever need it again and the family I gave it to (tho I love them dearly) isn't the most..... well, you know! There are 5 kids and it's harder to keep things nice when you have ZERO time.

I'm headed to bed soon.. Sleep tight! (but not on your back!)

Kate, best look for another crib. ;)

I have a long hx of giving and not taking. It hasn't been since I moved up here that people have been more giving. Ironically, this friend of mine always likes to "borrow" or "trade" things to me which is really strange for me. I've always just been a giver. So,....when we got our new computer we GAVE our old one to her. Boy, she really had a hard time with that. She wanted to "trade" something and even promised that she would buy me something really nice someday when she could afford it. I told her that the smile on her face was payment enough for me. She's "lending" me her pg clothes,...although she was "given" most of them free and is NOT planning another child. I just will not ever be able to figure everyone out! I usually won't borrow things in fear of staining or ruining them, but pg clothes are an exception. ;)

Kate, you're going to bed? Wow! It's only 8pm here in Minnesota. Morris, I missed something! When is your induction?!?!?!??!

Morris~good luck tomorrow!! Are they doing cervidil overnight then starting pit in the am? I will pray it goes very smoothly and you have that sweet baby boy very soon! Great job on the workouts today!

Kate~yikes on the crib!! I'd want it back too. I hope it's not damaged in anyway.

Melanie~how next that your dh is a sahd. I bet the boys love that. My son tells me sometimes he wished daddy would stay home and i would work. I think daddy spoils too much.. lol I hope he likes the recliner!

Candra~ how does DSs like the jujitsu? My oldest is taking karate, but dh wanted him to do the mixed martial arts stuff.. (he watches way to much Ulitmate fighter..lol) When we move i want to look into other options. What all do they do w/ the jujitsu?

Stephanie~I think it's okay that you got sunburned.. at least okay for the baby. The only concern I would think would be that your core temp would be too hot, but that wouldn't be likely to be that high.. maybe just keep extra fluids while you are red.

Hi! Boy, today was another really hot and humid day. I had to clean out my classroom this morning-early afternoon. I did so much with packing and moving boxes (they weren't really heavy), that I felt that was a good enough workout...I did it for 5 hours!!!!!!! We bought DS one of those blue round pools that has the blow up ring around the top, and he did get in tonight. Although the water was really cold, he liked it. I just got back from a get together at a co-worker's house. There were some people from work along with some others. It truly amazes me how some women can act like they're in jr high! I couldn't believe the way they were talking about people. It sort of makes me wonder what they say about me when I am not around...I really don't care, though.

Morris-I will be thinking about you, and I can't wait to hear about your new son!!!!!

Melanie-Yeah on the race and the clothes. Usually I get 80s style maternity clothes from friends. My sister gave all her summer maternity clothes to a co-worker, and that's AFTER she knew I was pregnant (how nice)!

Kate-What a busy weekend!

Maggie-Thanks for the advice on potty training!

Trish-I love Army Wives. Do you know when the new ones will begin? Are they still going to be on Sun nights? What time?

Lisa-I love ME too.

Stephanie-I thought about you a few times tonight at the ball game. I would have been miserable with the heat. How did it turn out?

Candra-I would like DS (3) to take karate when he is a little older.

Talk to you all tomorrow! Sleep tight!
-Jen
