Saturday Peeps

Sorry I was MIA yesterday. We got an early start and headed to Gettysburg for the day. We had lovely weather and a great trip. Now I'm ready to head to work. I'm planning on a KB workout when I get home this afternoon. Gotta fit some football in today too.

Go Penn State!

Up and at em Peeps!!

Bummer you have to work today Robin :(

I'm getting ready to do 4DS LIS. Still find the foot work in this one a little confusing. But I'm giving it a try.

DH and I are going to see Carly Simon tonight!! Yipee. Love her. I am looking forward to it, but nervous about the boys. My sister (nurse) and an ICU nurse will be staying over night. And we will only be about 40 min away in Atlantic City, but I still worry. We are staying over to celebrate our 10th anniversary. :D:D:D

I hope everyone has a great Saturday. I'll BBL

Hi Peps :)

Robin - You must have a beautiful scenery while driving yesterday. Have fun with football watching after your workout! I am bracing myself for the arrival of the girls later... PS I thought of you while doing marathon cooking yesterday!

Ellie- Carly Simon! Have a blast. You're So Vain is running through my head. I'll probably be humming it all day ,LOL

The leaves are flaming with color out my window and the sun is peering through them, quite a view. I'm staying here with my coffee for a bit to enjoy this. Then it will be a run and some wood stacking for the afternoon.

Judy,

Enjoy your beautiful morning!!!
Carly Simon and James Taylor. My faves. Was soooo mad when they divorced!! But both of their children are very talented.
I think I might be singing that all morning now!!!!!! :D:D:D

Hey PEEPS!! Chugging the coffee!!

Robin, so glad you had a good day yesterday. You deserve many more!!!

Ellie- "you're so vain, you probably think this song is about you" I believe that's Carly. Have fun at the concert!!

Judy, I think you asked about my PT sessions yesterday. I've had one so far and will be going back next week.

The KB PT session went well. The functional mobility testing was humbling  I knew it would be. I am hoping that I am not beyond help and that she can straighten me out :) We did the FM test and then did some KB basics- swings, cleans with ohp, squats, DLs, and core work. She seemed to think we(my sis and I) weren't hopeless LOL. She was impressed with my knowledge:cool: She even went out for pizza and beer with us afterwards!!

I am not sure what I will be doing w/o wise today. Something, hmmmmmm,......

Okay, the ANTICIPATION is killing me, but I Haven't Got time for the Pain, so I can just Let the River Run and go with The Right Thing to do!!!!

Somebody stop me:eek::eek::eek:

I'm so Vain, I probably think this thread is About Me :D:D:D

okay okay I'm done (for now)

Peeps Check-in

Peeps:

Good morning! I enjoyed my water workout last night, and I am feeling better this morning. I need to start spending more time in the pool. Jogging in the pool feels like physical therapy. My body always feels so good after a water workout. It is very meditative and relaxing mentally too. I turn off the overhead lights and turn on the underwater lights and take time to pray and ponder. The warm saltwater is soothing and supports my weight. I wear Ryka aqua shoes (that are cushy and look like running shoes but are made for the pool), and I can run sprints across the pool without pain. I love it! I wrapped up the day with the stability ball segment of Stretch Max last night.

I have a dream of running someday. I checked in with the Cheetahs for a few months in 2007. I ran my first mile last May and felt great. Then Dr. Fuhrman’s ex-assistant put me on a crazy detox that triggered eating disorder behavior. After starving for a week on 600 calories a day, I rebelled against that and had a relapse with binge eating in June and gained 30 pounds in 30 days. Yes, you read that right! It was not water weight either because it is coming off slowly. I am still working on the last few pounds. That weight pushed me past my breaking point, and I had to take a break from running. I have a wild idea about something I would like to participate in next year, but I need to pray about this before I commit to it.

Ellie, thanks for the support and encouragement yesterday. You are so sweet and funny too. I am glad you joined this check-in. Happy anniversary! I hope you have a blast this weekend! I love Lower Intensity Step. The dancy choreography is so much fun. Keep practicing. It is so much fun when you master the moves.

JJ, thank you for the kind words and compliment. LOL about some Cathe workouts being less deadly than others.

Karin, getting that extra weight off never gets easier. I can relate! Eating is definitely challenging this time of year too, and the holidays are just around the bend.

Wendy, I am in Central Texas. I am not that far from Dallas, but I do not visit Dallas very often unless a friend is driving. I hate traffic! There are a bunch of Texas girls who are forum members. We need to find a central location and get together someday.

Robin, enjoy the lovely weather and football today.

Judy, enjoy your run. I am keeping you in my prayers this weekend. Have fun with all those girls.

Catherine, it sounds like you had a great personal training session. Pizza! Yummy!

Blessings,
Heather B.

Hey Peeps!

Well, I just got done wolfing down french toast with syrup & a sausage link and now I feel like a slug:confused: Darn DH!!....he always wants to make this and I try to resist but alas, I have no willpower.

Robin Sounds like you had a fun time yesterday. Enjoy your KB's and football;)

Ellie Happy 10th Anniversay:) Have fun at the concert!!

Judy The trees are just peaking here too and it is so beautiful. So...do you have any lasagne left?:p When we've hosted the soccer girls here, they pretty much ate everything in sight!

Catherine Sounds like you had a great session.....especially the pizza & beer;) I wonder if the FM testing is similar to what I did with Andrea? The one move I really struggled with was straddling a 2x4 in a basic tabletop position-raise the same arm & leg-bend inward to touch elbow to knee then back out again. The foot of the planted leg must be on the toe (not flat) and I could not shift my weight or tip my pelvis to get into position. Opposite arm/leg is much easier!

I can tell from reading your posts that you very fit and knowledgeable. I would never consider you hopeless! I bet you'll be swinging those KB's around with top form in no time;)

Heather Your water workouts sound wonderful. How nice to be able to get in a great workout without pounding on your joints. I think many people on this forum have struggled to some degree with eating and weightloss. It is so encouraging to hear that even though you've had setbacks, you are not giving up. I pray for your continued strength and determination....you will reach your goal;)

Hello to those who follow and have a great weekend!

JJ

finally home!

... I'm so glad to be HOME... I can't tell you how BADLY I travel. I do have to say that I was fairly impressed with the lodging, as I generally hate the beds in a hotel, but this one was pretty comfortable!

I think I mentioned that this facility had a great workout area, however, I sadly only utilized it once during my trip. I am so disappoited in myself!

Also, as 3 meals per day were available and included in my class fee, I just HAD to eat right??? Apparently the US Postal Service has not embrased the notion of eating clean... I have never seen so much meat and potatos (in one form or another) in my life in one place. They did have a small "healthy" section, but fish just does not float my boat... so, I started off with hitting the salad bar and adding meat... that slowly turned into meat and potatos, meat and pasta, pizza, and ICE CREAM!!! OMG, thursday night was Banana Splits!

So, I gained 3 lbs this week :mad::mad:

Today, is a new day and I continue my journey, just seems like I've been here before!

look forward to getting back into the Peeps! & catching up with everyone again...

have a great weekend!

Hello, Peeps.

Today was another 3 mile run. DH informed me that the circuit around our neighborhood is actually 5K, which is barely OVER 3 miles. So I was smiling about that. I also realized that the circuit includes not 5 but 6 hills. It's a little hard to keep track when you're huffing! ;) But today I crossed a threshold because there were times I was actually ENJOYING myself and not counting every ragged breath. I've been waiting to see if that could happen before really committing myself to train for a 1/2 marathon. And since it did happen so quickly, I'm pretty confident that I'll be able to work up to the distance. That's good.

We're leaving for vacation Monday. I'm so glad, but I hate that I'll be MIA for 9 whole days from the forum. We're going to the ocean, so I'll be running on the beach. That'll be picturesque but TOUGH. I've done it before. So it'll be good training.

Sorry no time for personals. Besides packing for our trip, I hosted a piano recital and reception for DS8. He had 10 whole songs (2 handed) memorized. We had a living-room full of friends who were thoroughly impressed. :D I was so proud since I was both mom AND teacher.

Well, gotta go.

Laura, have a great vacation!!!

Dani, glad you are home safe and sound!!

JJ, that sounds like the same FM testing. I was all over the place trying to do that move :confused: I also didn't like the wall squats :(

Heather, glad you had a good w/o in the pool!!

I am now heading for a nap.

Oh, I did Lauren Brooks KB dvd this morning. Maybe a mistake after the training session last evening. My glutes are a bit sore
