Santa came early!

My handy brother in law said he would make me a minitopper when I go to see them at Thanksgiving :). (I can't believe how darn excited I am about this!).

And ... my husband wanted to get me something "romantic" for Christmas. I told him rather than spend $50 on a "day of beauty" at a salon I'd rather have a medicine ball. So, I think there will be a 6lb target ball and a 10lb walmart ball under the tree for me. Plus, I left heavy hints that I want this "Strength Training Anatomy" book that has diagrams of all strength exercises and an anatomical drawing of what muscles are being worked.

I freely admit to being a geek :). Rose

. . . and stopped off at MY place too!

DH gave me the go-ahead to go all-DVD with my Cathe Collection; just ordered 235 semolians' worth of DVD's to replace my current vid collection, AND DH is going to get Chez Aquajock a 5-disc programmable player for the downstairs Workout Lair.

PLUS, I have my eyeball on a 25-lb dumbbell and a 35-lb dumbbell at Sportmart.

That's what happens in a mixed marriage between Gentile and Jew - you get to straddle Chanukkah AND Christmas - and Chanukkah begins the day after Thanksgiving this year!

Good for you Rose!

Me, too!

Drug DH to the mall Friday night to pick out a pair of Ryka cross-trainers. He went ahead and bought them, but insisted on carrying them out to the truck and stuffing them behind the seat until Christmas.

However, our anniversary is the first week of December, so I hinted that they could be a nice anniversary gift, instead of a Christmas gift ... unless he's already bought that pair of diamond stud earrings for me. Ha!

Rose,
You will love that S.T.A. picture book! I have it, and I look at it from time to time. It's a great reference book and it gives you lots of ideas.

Hey Connie & Rose!

Is the exact title of the book you are referring STA? I am looking at a book in an ad in my Dec. issue of Muscle & Fitness called "Training Notebook" which sounds similar. It is a spiral that has 74 diff. exercises...which muscles are being used, tips for building, training logs and so forth. I have been so tempted to get it. It is $19.99 plus (I am assuming) S/H. I haven't called or gotten online to see yet. The price seems good, that is if the S/H isn't outrageous! Just curious if anone has this yet??? Thanks for your time.

RE: Hey Connie & Rose!

I don't have it here, but I think it is called "Strength Training Anatomy," done by a guy with a French name. Amazon.com has it for under $15 - it's a really good book. I got it out of our library, and was entranced :). They show home and gym exercises, but mostly home from what I recall. They also showed women!

RE: Attention fitness book lovers

If you need more places where Santa can pick up giftie-poos for you, and you're interested in studying fitness, there's a great company with a great website that has oceans of good books for every fitness interest:

Human Kinetics

www.humankinetics.com

I got their most recent mini-catalog last night, and you could go broke just getting these releases! They've got books on everything: strength training principles, anatomy, periodization, plyometrics, training for sports, flexibility, everything. I know I've mentioned that site before, but I think it bears repeating.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
