Sanjaya lives!!!

He's here for another week!
I was hoping Chris Richardson would get the boot. He seems to be slipping.
I don't even consider Sanjaya anymore. I'm with Simon...What's to say America seems to like him, or something.
Can vote for the worst really have that much say.
How many of you are like me. You really like the show but you never really vote?
LD

The tweeny bopper vote might be waning. DD looked and listened to him this week and said, MEH, he can go home...She was not happy Sligh went home.

You know, I'm not sure why I get so roped into this show each and every year. It's so silly, yet I can't stop! The whole Sanjaya thing is getting annoying, quite honestly. So much media hype now that he won't get voted off for a while. Have you noticed how many news shows talk about it? In one day I saw AI Sanjay topics on the Today Show, Regis/Kelly, and Ellen. Nuts, I tell ya!

I just have to say Blake is easy on the eyes. Watching his moves....mmmmm....hope he stays for a long time! Jordin is quickly becoming one of my faves too.

Can you believe next week is Tony Bennett songs? Did I hear that right? That should be interesting!

Heidi

I just love Blake too!
Was Gwen Stefani lip syncing (sp?) last night. She sounded so much better than previous guest singers that they have had.
Wonder what Tony Bennett song Blake will sing. He is always so original.
LD

Gwen was fun to watch. I liked her as a music guest/mentor. She was up front and honest. I don't think she was lip-synching. I usually really watch for that. She was good! Better than Diana Ross was - oy!

Heidi

We never miss the show, but never vote. A few years ago there was a girl in the top 12 from the town next to mine and I voted for her. She left at like 10 and I'm never voted again. I can remember that it was so hard to get in and vote. I wonder if it's easier now. I can't believe that Sanjaya is still there! All of the people voted off were better than he is. What's up with the hair?
Ellen

I love Gwen too! She's got some great music and she's so fun to watch! As for my favorite, i'm really starting to like Gina. I hope she goes far. And Ellen, you are right, what was up with that hair? He's such a weirdo to me. Ugh, I cannot believe he's still there. I have tried to vote before and it's almost impossible to get through. I just don't have the patience - especially this season.

Barbara

I think my favorite is Gina, too. She's got a great, strong voice, and, of course, I love that she's a "rocker." I think she's adorable.

I think America made the right call. At least Sanjaya can keep with the band when he sings (and he's certainly coming out of his shell, isn't he?). Chris S. needed to leave. Even though he has a good voice, he doesn't seem able to sing in time with the music.

I also think Haley belonged in the bottom 2.

So far, here is who I'd like to see in the top 4, in no particular order:
Jordin
Gina
Melinda (though I wish she'd get a neck: is it really that short, or is she just hunching?)
The beatbox boy

These are all singers I would listen to on the radio, and might even get a CD by (though I rarely buy English-language music CDs).

Lakisha has a great voice, but she just seems old-fashioned to me.

Even worse, IMO, is the air time his "crying fan" is getting. She's been on several shows, got a make-over on one.

I'm hoping Gina, Jordin or Blake win. If Lakisha or Melinda win, they will end up like Fantasia and Ruben, and do a gospel album and we will never hear from them again. LOL!

I'm guilty in saying that I accidently voted for Sanjaya! I had the numbers wrong. Funny thing was that number was very hard to get through, busy for a long time. I voted for Gina and Blake and my calls got right through first call.

So, what hairdo will Sanjaya have next week? Dreads? Fro?

Hmmmmm...next week's guest is Tony Bennett...a pompadour, maybe?

Oh gosh, Sanjaya's growing on me. I think he's got guts. Or, if he doesn't need guts for this and can naturally and cheerfully handle of pressure of knowing everyone thinks he sucks, then...dude, I think he's sweet.

But I have not voted for him! Don't be mad.

I agree Blake and his moves are easy on the eyes, yum. I loved his "what's your name, who's your daddy" performance. That was yummy.

Me, too!

I've actually liked Sanjaya from the beginning. Not as one of 'the best singers," but as a person. He does have a good voice, but he lacks confidence and doesn't project...but that's been changing some. He seems like a sweet kid. (Not like that annoying "Chicken Little" lisper who had neither the singing chops NOR the personality.)

And I think there are still 2 expendable contestants who can go home before him (Haley and the bald guy). But, I do think it would be unfair if he stuck around after that and one of the other singers got booted instead.

You know, I remember Sanjaya and his sister from the initial auditions, and I remember that he actually could sing, and has a good musical background, good early childhood exposure, good ear, etc. I'm pretty sure I liked him then. Plus, he's undeniably cute. (puppy dog cute).

again, though, I have not voted for him. (CYA statement)

Melinda's sature reminds me of someone I went to HS with. This girl had severe scoliosis and eventually had rods put into her back as an adult. I wonder if there is some sort of spinal issue there.

>LOL. Kathyrn. Who is the chicken little lisper?
>LD

Did you watch last year?
I can't remember the guy's name, something Corvalis (Kevin?). A rather mediocre singer who went much farther than he should, but seemed like rather a jerk instead of a nice guy like Sanjaya.

OMG y'all. I can just seen Sanjaya winning Idol. Instead of albums he'll just do the "guest" circuit and book parties for the rest of his life. Haley is just good eye candy I'm assuming and will accompanying Sanjaya on the circuit. I think she'll be his assistant.

Seriously though, Melinda & Lakisha need to break into some songs that might show their personalities better. Too bland.

Jordin is really, really good for such a young age. Blake is fun to watch :) I enjoy Gina, too. I love a rocker chick.
