Salad disappointment

Didn't have the time to bring my own salad to work today, so I made plans to grab a grilled chicken/bacon salad from McDonald's. Well, I was so into listening to my audiobook on my car stereo that I wasn't paying attention to what restaurant drive-thru I went to and ended up at Wendy's. Their salads just blow compared to the McDonald's salads.

I got the Mandarin Chicken with low-fat dressing. Except their low-fat dressing is creamy ranch. Who wants ranch dressing on oranges? Plus...all the lettuce is iceburg and there were no tomatoes! The McDonald's grilled chicken one is SO good! The chicken breast is hot, the lowfat dressing is Newmans vinaigrette, and there's actually some decent lettuce and grape tomatoes in it.

When it comes to burgers and fries...I'm a Wendy's girl through-and-through. But salads...uh-uh. It's gotta be Mickey D's!

Does your Wendy's offer the fruit cup/bowl? It comes with a cup of yogurt. I had it once and it was very good.

I agree about Wendy's burgers and McD's salads. Although I'm trying to stay away from both right now!!

Wendy's has a fat free french dressing which is yummy on the oranges. I use that wehenver I get the mandarin orange salad.

I like the single side salads at McDonald's and I won't eat the other kinds as I feel the "meat" in the salads is just processed garbage, but JMHO. I do love Chick-A-Fil which only sells 100% pure chicken and nothing else. Their chicken nuggets are soooo good! And speaking of side salads, they have the best! They give you a package of sunflower seeds, croutons and your choice of dressing. Salad has raw broccoli, different cheeses, carrots, etc. in with a variety of lettuce. They also sell fresh fruit salads that are reasonably priced and not like Wendy's $5 something fruit salads.

Charlotte - The grilled chicken is just a grilled chicken breast that has been marinated. It's not the processed stuff. We don't have Chick-A-Fil around here.

Angie - I have seen the fruit bowls and they look awesome, but the price is outrageous. I can't justify spending that kind of money on a fruit bowl.
