Safe places to stay in Orlando?

We are trying to plan a trip to Fl in April month. Some of the people we are going with have been to Fl a few times and want to stay in the same cities/towns they stayed in before b/c they know its safe and nice. But...we are having trouble finding houses to rent in this area.
We were looking at Kissimee? Something...Hills? But Im wondering about Davenport or Clemont? I know I may not have these cities spelled right. Im thinking about calling a few places today but Im don't want to call places with high crime rates!

Just so you know, Orlando is an extremely safe city. I would avoid anything around International Drive because it is the most touristy area. Kissimmee is a very popular place for people to stay who are visiting the area attractions because it's at the south end and very close to almost everything.

I live just outside of Clermont. Beautiful area...rolling hills which is very unusual for Central Florida. The problem is, and maybe it's not a problem at all for you, it will take you approximately 40-45 minutes to area attractions. This would be a detriment if you wanted to start out early and leaving late. I have never even been to Davenport.

Feel free to ask other questions about the area. You are picking one of the absolutely best times of the year for beautiful weather. November through May is gorgeous here.
