S&H leg question

I have a question on this workout. Whenever I do S&H legs, my legs start shaking way before I feel like the muscle is exhausted. I'm just wondering why? I always push through this, but haven't gone up on my weight because of this. Sometimes it seems to get in the way of the rep I'm doing, since I'm not as steady. Thanks! Mary

Hi,
I get a lot of the shaking too. I feel it most in the tricep workout and in Legs ( mostly in the plie section ). I think someone had mentioned it was a sign that the muscle was being challenged by the weight.
Cathe if you see this thread, just wanted to thank you for this great series once again! When I first wandered into your site I was totally amazed that the women on your board used 35 lbs and up for squats and lunges. I never thought I could work up to that! Today I managed S&H Legs with a 40 lb barbell. I started at 25 lbs. Thanks so much! I can even do LL with a 30 now. It just feels so good being able to up the poundage ... I can see now why some people fall in love with lifting!
Somehow the mindset just shifts from wanting to lose weight to wanting to see a muscle or a curve or maybe even just a dent pop out of nowhere.

Hi Mary! Some people shake more than others (I'm a shaker too). It is normal reaction to the stress that is being placed on them. You are simply challenging that muscle. If you can work through it with good form, you can keep going. If not, lower your weight. Be sure though that you are properly fueled (food wise)too. Lack of carbs in your system can bring on the shakes too. Good Luck!
