Running Shoes

Any runners out there that can suggest what shoes to purchase? I just recently took up jogging and I'm not sure where to start with shoes.

Thanks
Dianne

Dianne i would go to a speciality store so you can try on shoes. one brand might not fit and feel right to you as would for me or others. the store i went to check my feet, knees, and asked about any medical conditions with lower body then tried on shoes for like 45 mins. before i found the pair the fit real well. i tried on a few more but went to the new balance. brand wise i wouldn't think they would be one that i would have chose but after trying on all different brands this one fit my feet and were oh so comfortable. so its all about how it feels and fits for you.

I also use New Balance. I went to a specialty store and let someone watch me run and they recommend a shoe based on how my foot landed, whether it pronates or supinates and where I will need the most support. I love my New Balances, but I know others who hate them, so it is a good idea to try a lot. I went through five pairs before I found the one that was perfect for me.

Yes, make sure you try on lots and get good advice. I've discovered I can't wear Nikes because I pronate and they don't offer enough side cushioning. New Balance also don't work for me. I've had the best luck with Asics.
