Running shoes

Hello everyone, was wondering if you could give me your opinion on your favorite running shoes. I am currently using Brooks, but don't feel they are doing the job. My back is really hurting, and I think it is the shoes. So please let me know what you think. Thanks so much, Lori
PS.~ I use Ryka's for step and cross training, don't they also make running shoes? If so what one do you like and how much were they? Thanks

Yes, Ryka makes superb running shoes! Lots of support for women's unique feet! I really like Asics too; I had a pair of Asic 2020s and 2040s (same line, newer models). My most recent pair of running shoes were Mizuno, and they are absolutely awesome! (unfortunately, I stopped running due to knee pain shortly after purchasing them--thought the new shoes would help--so I just use them for walking. They are so comfy!!!)

I'm not sure what kind of shoes you look for but the shoes I look for need to have good arch support and not too heavy. Your local running shoe store should be able to help you out. A word of caution--be careful where you go, I got extremely poor advice at one of the big shoe stores, thankfully I didn't purchase there. It pays to fork over the higher $$$ for the advice you will get at a specialized store. Also, check out online, there are some good sites that can help you with shoes and offer shoe reviews.

THANK YOU, Kelli!! You gave me so much info that I decided to go looking on the internet for some Ryka's. Since I already have some for my stepping I decided to buy some for running. I love Ryka's. I found some called Ryka Veritas Running shoes. Has anyone tried this paticular one? I got a really good deal at Sports Authority. I figure I can't go wrong with any Ryka shoe, right?!! I think anything will be better than what I have right now. So thanks again Kelli and happy exercising!!:-jumpy

Thanks for the tip on this website. They have the Ryka Vazel running shoe on clearance and that is the best running shoe I have ever owned. As a matter of fact I have owned 2 pair. I loved them so much that I bought a second pair for when the first pair woreout.
