Running instead of eating wedge of brie

My husband and I had a heated debate. We had not had one like that in years; however, it happens. Ooh, I was soooo ANGRY; and usually when I am mad like that I eat a wedge of brie and drink a glass or two of Chardonnay. Well, instead I went for a walk which turned into an eight mile run! I had no idea that I had that endurance within myself. And the strange thing is I would jog occasionally, never more than 3 miles and always in intervals. Even stranger, the only reason I stopped at 8 miles was because my feet were burning; I still had energy. However, about 15 minutes after stopping, I started vomiting. I'll say this I am not mad anymore.

Oh yeah, running is a GREAT release for stress. :) Good for you for choosing exercise over eating as a way of getting out your frustrations. As someone who is sometimes guilty of stress eating, I can appreciate that decision!...But just a word of advice? Be careful to build up your mileage sensibly...otherwise, you can wind up with injuries that'll take you outta commish altogether.

Happy trails :),

Oh Alicia, I did some emotional eating y'day and THEN worked out to get rid of the guilt. I like your idea better!;) Good job choosing the healthier path but be careful. I definately agree with Cathy in that you could easily injure yourself if you try to do too much too fast. 8 miles on a whim is very impressive though!:)
