Running check-in (remember me?)

Hi guys!

Haven't posted in a while... way too busy at work lately and I don't use a computer at home... anyway how is everyone's running coming along? I hope you guys are doing well. Weather is getting warmer! Are ya gettin' in the miles?

I did a couple 5Ks since I last posted. PR is still 28:03. I did the SF bay-to-breakers along with about 80,000+ others! It's the largest road race in the world. It's a blast! We do it every year. It starts at the wharf (bay) and goes 7.46 miles (12K) west across the city to Ocean Beach. This year it rained and it was freezing! About 40 degrees (that's freezing to us in the bay area :) so after we crossed the finish line we ran another 3 miles to keep warm while we waited for our husbands! This was on sunday and I'm still a bit sore! :)

Anyway, I'm rambling on here... I've got a 5-mile race in june and a 10K in july... then a 1/2-marathon in october... lots of training ahead... I'm still weight training with cathe...

What are you guys up to? How's the running, walking, training coming along?

I'm aching for new cathe vids!!!

Where have the runners been?

Where'd you guys go?

Maybe I should start a "Can't Commit Forum" since I'm hiking, biking & running. But DH is running a 1/2 marathon on 6/1 (I'm doing a 10-k). Our only run together is the weekly long run & it's a stretch to call it "together.". I run an out & back & he runs a loop. It could qualify as a "rave run" for the most part as it's around the Newport Beach backbay. It's my favorite recovery ride (bike) route & now my long run route.

DH is thinking of a marathon. Our deal is he runs 2 half-marathons & then we talk. I've heard too many marathon horror stories. So far he's training smart. Looks like I'll need to find a new riding partner or join a cycling club.

Training wise, I'm ready to start speed sessions. The May & June RW had some good ideas. Just have to figure out how to schedule everything.

Marnie - I can't believe that you ran another 3 miles after your race!! That is too funny. I love cold weather runs as long as the wind isn't an issue. Anything warmer than 50 starts feeling too warm for me! Good luck with your races!

My running hasn't changed - I've been doing 6 mile run/walks on non-consecutive days when the weather is good. Usually 2-3 days a week. I'm 28 weeks pregnant now and hoping to keep going for a few more weeks and will be happy to "retire" for a while when the weather gets too hot. I'm still weight training - doing a slow & heavy rotation right now.

Hi! I only post occasionally, but I am always reading the forums. Anyway, I wanted to share that I ran a 1/2 marathon this past Saturday. First race in 2 and a half years. It felt really good. I thought you runners would understand..

I usually run about 3 times a week for 6 miles. I have been doing Cathe strength tapes and I can't believe how much my running has improved since then..
