Runners Check In April 7

Fit_mommy

Cathlete
Good morning folks.

Today is a steady state run for me...supposed to be 45 mins but I doubt I'll be able to go that long straight. I'm sure this will end up being a run/walk in some capacity for me today.

Have a great day everyone!:)

Hello AGAIN Tigger:+

I am going for a run outside today and I am sooooooooooooooo excited!!! The last time we went I pushed my running partner to go a little further.I had told her earlier that week.."look out girl, cause I have been running alot this winter" When we got home from our run she said "you weren't joking, were you"? :) I have improved alot over the last 3 yrs, I can remember making her walk at times with me.Now...Im not saying that won't happen again! LOL
I also CAN NOT wait for summer running. Not when its hot and sticky..thats no good. But the days your working on your sock tan and you don't even know it? Those days:)

Hope everyone as a good run!
Lori

Good Morning Tigger and Lori. I see all of us are up already for our workouts. Today I have no running scheduled. It is all Pyrmarid Upper Body and some core work. I'm giving the legs a break today. However I may hop on the treadmill this evening for only about 2 miles. Will see. Have a great weekend. Karen

I am going to attempt to run 5 miles today but the weather might prevent me from running outside. suppose to ran all day. otherwise it seems nice as far as temperature goes. If it rains ,it will be the treadmill today.

Good morning runners

Wendy, have a good run. Don't even worry about having to walk some. 45 min is a long time for a steady state run...you'll do great!

Lori...enjoy your run outside...I am so looking forward to summer running, we have had soooooooooooo much rain I am starting to resemble a prune!!! I only run outdoors.

Good workout Karen, the Pyramids are a real fav for me!

Way to go Gloria! Congrats on the pound down..:)

I'll be doing PUB back maybe some corework and a 3 or 4 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

Sounds like a great workout Carol. I love the pyrmids too. I just love those soy protein shakes with the banana and flaxseed. I feel like I'm cheating when i drink those.

Great job on the pound down as well Gloria!!!

Karen

Karen...I do agree about those shakes....they really are wonderful, and good for you...:)...glad you like them...

Hey ladies!

Wondering if I can join you? I'm planning on my first run in quite some time today. I injured my hip and I'm going to try a short three miles today just to see how it's doing. It SEEMS to be fine, no pain lately, but we'll see what the running does.

I'm also doing GS BSB.

YEAH! Shelley is here!! This day just gets better and better!!

"good news! I'm now a pound this week...must be the short cardio everyday and this new SS s!!! "

Gloria, I am a little concerned about your weight, and I say this as a friend...a pound is way too low for anyone! I don't know how you can do ANY cardio weighing in at 1 pound!!:+

Seriously, I will do light elliptical today and HSC (abs instead of cardio) because tomorrow is my 18 MILER!!!! I am so excited!!! All I can think about is this marathon. I am going to hate when it is all over!!!

Great job today, ladies! Shelley, let us know how that hip holds up! Hope it doesn't bug you any!

Thanks Shelley and Karen! I am really going to need you guys the next few weeks to get me through Monster Month! My 2 longest runs are coming up! Tomorrow will be 18 miles and in 2 weeks, 20 miles! 18 will be the longest run I've ever done!

Hey, everyone, I am on vaca and I saw this checkin and I was hoping that I could join you guys when I get back... pretty please? :D I have been training for the mini, for my first mini, and I am scared to death and I see that there are some very talented and seasoned experts here that I can learn alot from. All of you are so inspiring!

Missy

Good morning ladies and good luck with your run today.

Today I will be running intervals. I'm really looking forward to it.

I have a question for all you distance runners. Right now almost all of my workouts have been on the treadmill, but I will soon be moving outdoors when the weather turns nice. It seems like I am always needing to drink something throughout my run, no matter how short the run. Do you all carry water with you? What do you use and where can I buy it?

Have a great day today ladies!

Good morning everyone!!

I am not running today..but last week I did my first outside run of the season..OMG!! It felt so great!! I have not ran in a very long time, just felt great to get out there and pound the pavement.

Wow Were my legs sore the next day...I could not believe it!

My favorite is to run backwards on the track by my house, when I can get on the track..LOL!

:)

LOL!!! Sarah, you had me laughing out loud! Im a little concerned about Glorias weight to...one more week and she will be gone:eek: ;) hahahahaha! Good luck with that run! Holy Moly...you would have to pick me up off of the road!

I just got back from my run and it was a good one.It was a little windy out but we managed to cut through it.When we were 1/2 way around it got even winder but my endurnace must be up b/c the wind didn't bother me like it use to and I always found I was 2 steps ahead of my running partner.Maybe I have had 2 good outdoor runs...we will see what tomorrow brings! I think we got about 15-16 kms in today..Im thinking thats about 8 miles?

Lori:)

Good morning.

I took a much needed rest day today, but plan to do 4 miles tomorrow. It will probably be a walk/run combo, hopefully with more running.

You all are so inspirational. Can't wait to say that I ran 18 miles!

Jen

Hi Everyone -

Looks like everyone is doing well today. I did a 30 min run/walk today and it felt great. Last night after work I did intervals 1-5 on Imax 2 and GS Chest. I am starting a one body part a day routine so that I have more time to add cross training to my week. I only have about 1 hr/day right now during the weekdays, so I will be doing one body part after my 30 min runs. I know that the running is really helping because Imax 2 didn't seem that hard! I know the first 5 intervals are easier than the last 5, but I have done 1/2 the workout several times before and it always killed me. Now it was a lot more fun, and I had a lot more spring in my step and I felt very bouncy and energetic instead of just dragging my feet through the moves. Felt great.
